[00:00:03.179]
Amber Winters: Okay, so welcome again today's session we're going to be taking a look at gail's on demand support materials which are going to be found on support that gail calm.

[00:00:15.030]
Amber Winters: don't worry you're going to hear that URL quite a bit in the session today so don't feel like you need to memorize it from the get go.

[00:00:21.300]
Amber Winters: My name is amber winters I am a training consultants here at gail I work with the Washington state library, with all of your new resources so.

[00:00:30.210]
Amber Winters: This is going to be one session and most likely a longer series of sessions to make sure you all have everything you need to get your resources kicked off appropriately.

[00:00:43.350]
Amber Winters: So a quick agenda for you all today so we're here for a nice.

[00:00:46.770]
Amber Winters: Short 30 minutes so, first I want to just go over general support site information, so you can kind of get an understanding of exactly what you'll find it's really kind of a.

[00:00:57.390]
Amber Winters: One stop shop for the majority of questions you guys might might think of kind of as you move forward with the resources.

[00:01:05.400]
Amber Winters: will also talk about, we have a specific.

[00:01:09.240]
Amber Winters: Washington state library kind of support Center that's also fun of the support site it's hosted on the support site.

[00:01:15.720]
Amber Winters: But it's pulled out separately for you guys so we're going to mention that.

[00:01:19.380]
Amber Winters: will spend most of the time actually in the resource, though i'd prefer it's free to see it live as opposed to me just kind of talk to you about it.

[00:01:25.980]
Amber Winters: And then, at the end of this session we will have time for questions, but again, you can type in your questions in the Q amp a at any point you don't have to wait till the end of the session, if you don't want to.

[00:01:35.040]
Amber Winters: And i'll have some wrap up in some contact information for you so moving forward, if you do think of questions you didn't ask them a session you'll know exactly where to go with those.

[00:01:44.760]
Amber Winters: So let's go ahead and get rolling here so first our support site again support that gmail.com.

[00:01:51.900]
Amber Winters: Just, generally speaking, if you go to support Danielle calm and you don't specifically Simon using your location ID which we'll talk about later.

[00:01:59.400]
Amber Winters: you're still going to have access to all of gail's on demand support tools actually for all of our resources, so if you have resources outside of the Washington state library.

[00:02:08.490]
Amber Winters: you'll still be able to get that information here on the support side as well.

[00:02:12.150]
Amber Winters: So first thing I like to mention, of course, this is because i'm in training so i'm a little partial I like to mention it first.

[00:02:18.240]
Amber Winters: You have great on demand training tools that we've developed so things like webinars tutorials which are shorter videos usually about one minute one to two.

[00:02:27.240]
Amber Winters: kind of going over a specific tool within a resource, we also have pre made lesson plans and activities, so if you're on the line today at a K 12 institution and you're looking for help to get into the resources those pre developed lesson plans, maybe a good place for you to go to.

[00:02:44.010]
Amber Winters: The activity is also may be helpful for public library individual so if you're a gun you're looking to get into these resources that may be a good option for you as well.

[00:02:53.970]
Amber Winters: We also have marketing materials so kind of moving forward from you learning about these resources.

[00:02:58.860]
Amber Winters: Once you ready to push that information out if you're a librarian to your teachers to your fellow library staff or if you ready.

[00:03:06.150]
Amber Winters: to your patrons or two of your faculty of course your students.

[00:03:09.990]
Amber Winters: We have both electronic and paper marketing materials so if you want to put posters up in your library, we have those resource guys are great to email out to.

[00:03:19.680]
Amber Winters: Your faculty teachers, give them kind of a quick background of what to expect in the resource.

[00:03:25.890]
Amber Winters: We have pre made social media and email templates so you don't need to kind of reinvent the wheel on that you have them ready to go you'll be able to enter your library's information and kind of shoot those out really nice and simply.

[00:03:39.150]
Amber Winters: And you'll also find our technical support information on this page So in addition to just kind of learning about the resources you're going to find information.

[00:03:47.190]
Amber Winters: If you need information about our accessibility, we have all that documentation on the support site, if you want to learn about different authentication methods.

[00:03:55.860]
Amber Winters: Things like LM s integration IP authentication password authentication things like that you'll find documentation on those we also have information on discovery services.

[00:04:07.560]
Amber Winters: So I know that's mostly applicable at that academic level, so if any of my academic individuals on the line today and your little bit worried about that don't worry, we have all of the documentation you're going to need.

[00:04:20.070]
Amber Winters: And finally you'll also find our usage dashboard on the support site, which is a great tool that's going to help you pull all of the usage, for your resources.

[00:04:28.830]
Amber Winters: Once you get them rolling, of course, right now, it might not be the most helpful tool, because most likely you don't have too many people in the resources just yet, but it's always there and available to you if you just kind of want to take a look at what's going on.

[00:04:43.050]
Amber Winters: and moving forward from that, as I mentioned, we have created a specific Washington state library portion of this support site.

[00:04:51.570]
Amber Winters: You can get to it from the main support site, or, if you want to get directly to this page, you can go to support that go COM.

[00:04:57.660]
Amber Winters: Forward slash w SL today i'm going to be taking you through the main support site, but if you wanted to cut that stuff out that's going to take you to the main Washington state library page.

[00:05:10.380]
Amber Winters: One of the main main things are going to find on this page that's you know fairly important because you're starting off here gail career.

[00:05:17.820]
Amber Winters: I was going to be your direct links your direct URLs to your resources, so if you do need those you know if you're just getting them up on your web page.

[00:05:25.830]
Amber Winters: you'll be able to find all of those here at the Washington state library page once you sign in again using your location ID and I will tell you exactly how to find your location ideas you'll have that ready to go.

[00:05:39.930]
Amber Winters: We also include the Washington state library focus training content so anything we do specifically for your state.

[00:05:46.590]
Amber Winters: So we had a few welcome session, some of you might have attended earlier this year, those are posted to this Washington state library specific page.

[00:05:55.050]
Amber Winters: This recording will be posted there, and anything we do in the future, specifically for Washington state library will be listed here as well, and we have included some what we call at large webinars so webinars that were.

[00:06:08.790]
Amber Winters: run for the the full nation, we have included some of them on here, those that are specifically.

[00:06:14.910]
Amber Winters: going over your resources, so you do have access to those on this page as well, but you're mainly going to see that Washington state library focused webinar training, as well as any on demand materials we create so if we do make.

[00:06:29.370]
Amber Winters: let's see I Washington state library specific lesson plan or something like that this is where you're going to find that material as well on the Washington state library portion of the support site.

[00:06:39.690]
Amber Winters: And finally, a new feature that we've just added I believe you all are the first State to have this remembering correctly.

[00:06:46.770]
Amber Winters: As a training alerts option so you'll be able to opt in it's, of course, completely opt in you're not going to be required to enter into these training alerts.

[00:06:56.640]
Amber Winters: But you can opt in to get emails when we do add new sessions for the Washington state library, so we have quite a few coming up, if you haven't received emails on those just yet.

[00:07:06.570]
Amber Winters: Or, if you have, and you just want to keep that going, you can sign up for training alerts and you'll be alerted anytime we get something scheduled for you and also generally reschedule webinars about.

[00:07:18.870]
Amber Winters: A month out so it gives you lots of time to kind of take a look at what's going on and see if you do want to attend that.

[00:07:24.930]
Amber Winters: I do, always like to mention, if you see a webinar you're really interested in but it's at a time you're not going to be able to join the session.

[00:07:31.980]
Amber Winters: Always register for the session anyways and you'll get a copy of the recording in your email, so you won't have to search it out on this support website.

[00:07:40.020]
Amber Winters: it'll go straight to you so again, even if you can't attend the session but you're very interested in just go ahead and register and we'll get that recording out to you.

[00:07:50.340]
Amber Winters: Now does anyone have any questions about those two sites that we're going to take a look at today they are pretty simple but I like to make sure I answer any questions before we really dive in.

[00:08:04.950]
Amber Winters: Okay, I don't see any so let's get rolling then.

[00:08:09.870]
Amber Winters: When it transition over here that the data, the support site there we go, let me know if my screen didn't change sometimes my tech likes to give me troubles on Fridays, but you should see the support site homepage.

[00:08:24.180]
Amber Winters: So the first thing I want to show you is how you can find your location so some of you, if you've had gail products for a while.

[00:08:30.750]
Amber Winters: You most likely already know your location ID which is great you're at Washington state library resources should be added to that location ID.

[00:08:38.700]
Amber Winters: So when you sign in you should see anything you purchased on your own and anything you get through the Washington state library, if you don't know your location ID you'll see right here, right in the middle of the screen, we can click find your location.

[00:08:54.930]
Amber Winters: And we'll be able to enter, if you want to search by your institution name, you can sometimes it's easier to search for your zip code, though, especially if you have a fairly common institution name.

[00:09:04.650]
Amber Winters: You know, George Washington high school things like that North high school West high school you're going to pull up, not just in Washington, but throughout all of the all of gail so you'll most likely get a lot of institutions so sometimes it is easier to search by zip just so you know.

[00:09:22.410]
Amber Winters: i'm not going to search say though i'm going to jump back to the support page by clicking support up here.

[00:09:29.310]
Amber Winters: Because I already know the location ID i'm going to use i'm going to use the main Washington state library location ID.

[00:09:37.530]
Amber Winters: i'll give it just a second to load.

[00:09:40.260]
Amber Winters: And you see now at the top of the screen here and the orange box is going to tell you what you're signed in with.

[00:09:45.180]
Amber Winters: So if you're with an individual who works with multiple libraries, maybe you work all the high school libraries in your district.

[00:09:51.840]
Amber Winters: you'll be able to see which high school you're actually working on so you'll be able to transition if you need to work on a different one you have that up top here.

[00:09:59.760]
Amber Winters: you'll see now in the middle of the screen, we have an option to view your products if you wanted to go ahead and take a look at what you have available, but I want to mention underneath.

[00:10:07.980]
Amber Winters: You have access to your customer success manager now phase not everyone's customer success manager so don't just copy her information off of the screen here.

[00:10:16.440]
Amber Winters: she's just the customer success manager for Washington state library specifically you all have your own customer success manager that will go into a little bit later on in our session today.

[00:10:28.110]
Amber Winters: But once we're finding now you'll see at the very top, we have just our basic tabs but, once we sign in we have this special Washington state library tab that we didn't have previously that will take a look at.

[00:10:41.010]
Amber Winters: But quickly let's take a look at some of the different options here so product supports again, you can browse through the products what's great is when you sign in with your location ID.

[00:10:50.460]
Amber Winters: It defaults to only showing you products in your collection So you see, on this left hand side here we can turn that off.

[00:10:57.300]
Amber Winters: But this list is very long, very quickly when you're looking at all of the resources available, so this is going to limit it down to you.

[00:11:04.440]
Amber Winters: kind of just starting off here so have them all listed, of course, you know you have those smaller one file collections that's why this list look so long because we do separate those out.

[00:11:15.840]
Amber Winters: let's go ahead and click into one of these, to see what we have on these pages well let's do galen contacts high school.

[00:11:24.690]
Amber Winters: So now, this is everything we have in the support site related to Gil and context high school we do kind of put it all into one page.

[00:11:32.070]
Amber Winters: So we have a brief overview your direct URL if you're clicking through the support say without signing in which again is completely fine you'll still find all the content, you need.

[00:11:41.640]
Amber Winters: You don't have your direct URL but since i'm signed in I can copy and paste this, and this is going to take me to my purse my instance of this resource.

[00:11:52.230]
Amber Winters: scrolling down we do include database icons as well, you want to put a widget on your web page, we have one available for you here, information on mark records and Title list.

[00:12:02.220]
Amber Winters: scrolling down you'll find all of our training materials like and just related to gail and contacts high school, so it looks like we have one lesson plan here.

[00:12:10.350]
Amber Winters: We have great library training tools so again, if you are a librarian and the K 12 field.

[00:12:16.290]
Amber Winters: We actually already have a full presentation created for you to present to your instructors So if you do have some time you know, during professional development over the summer.

[00:12:25.560]
Amber Winters: or once everyone's back in the fall, we have this pre created for you and you can really pick and choose what you want to include from the slides that we've created they're created in PowerPoint for you.

[00:12:36.630]
Amber Winters: Yes, the projects here resource guides tip sheets are recorded webinars are going to be listed here there are quite a few.

[00:12:44.610]
Amber Winters: I do want to mention you'll find more advanced webinars listed here on the main support site for now.

[00:12:50.070]
Amber Winters: Just because what we're doing for Washington state library is getting you all more accustomed so we're not diving in as deeper now looking at some of the more advanced tools just yet, so if you are ready to take that leap.

[00:13:00.870]
Amber Winters: On our main support page you're going to find a lot of webinars that are more detailed and more specific, for you.

[00:13:07.590]
Amber Winters: As I mentioned the shorter tutorials are listed here as well.

[00:13:12.180]
Amber Winters: And then underneath is all of our marketing materials so any communication, you want to make.

[00:13:16.710]
Amber Winters: Before you type it out start off right here, see if there's anything that you can use to kind of save yourself some time to see flyers banners bookmarks blog email templates social media posts all that good stuff can be found here as well.

[00:13:31.290]
Amber Winters: it's really easy to click into any of these here, if you want to take a look with say we'll look at our homework help bookmarks.

[00:13:39.270]
Amber Winters: Usually they're pre formatted here.

[00:13:41.910]
Amber Winters: They are editable so you can add your logo here, sometimes what institutions will do is they'll put a qr code here and said that will lead your.

[00:13:52.170]
Amber Winters: Your patrons are your students, you know to your library web page or wherever you want them to go, specifically, you can do that, instead of adding a logo.

[00:14:00.000]
Amber Winters: And then you'll see the back here, you can type in any information you want to hear so you want to put your library's name if you want to put your libraries phone number, maybe your direct email, you can type that out here.

[00:14:12.720]
Amber Winters: And once you've added it, how you want to just print it out and you'll be ready to go, these are already pre created for you so quite a bit of our on demand material is editable to make sure we can add information as needed.

[00:14:30.930]
Amber Winters: Now let me just jump back here.

[00:14:34.380]
Amber Winters: So you'll find that kind of same feel for all of your resources listed here of course i'm not going to go through all of them.

[00:14:40.680]
Amber Winters: Some you'll find more information than others, they in context resources often have quite a bit just because so many K 12 schools do work with them, we want to make sure they get.

[00:14:51.870]
Amber Winters: The information that they need generally the one file collections those smaller collections will have less information and that information is generally going to be about Gil one file kind of as a whole.

[00:15:08.640]
Amber Winters: So let's move forward from our product support so you'll see here kind of dropped down to get into this page I browse my products.

[00:15:15.960]
Amber Winters: But I can also just choose if i'm only looking for icons I can click this and pull up all of my icons.

[00:15:22.020]
Amber Winters: On one page, instead of having to you know click into each individual resource tab of all of my icons and I can copy and paste whatever I want to see, you see, we have our larger ones as well as our smaller kind of.

[00:15:34.770]
Amber Winters: compact ones will call them.

[00:15:39.180]
Amber Winters: Moving forward from product support we have our training Center so for this again if you just want to look at all webinars and resources, as opposed to separating.

[00:15:48.900]
Amber Winters: By resource, you can do that, right here you'll see we have everything listed again this list gets kind of long, so we won't go through it all today.

[00:15:58.380]
Amber Winters: you'll see you can search here, so if you have a specific webinar in mind for a specific product, you can search that you can also narrow it down by minutes we have.

[00:16:08.190]
Amber Winters: sessions 1530 and 45 minutes long, so you can simply take a look and narrow down that way, most of our 15 minute sessions are going to list this 15 minutes to mastery at the beginning, but again, you can simply filter that out, if you would like to.

[00:16:24.270]
Amber Winters: Also on the training Center you're going to see your video tutorials here, as well as well as all of those support tools, like the lesson plans and things like that.

[00:16:34.560]
Amber Winters: Next door is our marketing materials, we will be able to browse by type of material or just browse materials in general cooking in here this one i'm browsing my materials and this left hand side, I can narrow it down so if i'm just looking for let's say social media posts.

[00:16:53.640]
Amber Winters: I have all of those listed here now.

[00:16:57.510]
Amber Winters: I can take that off at any time.

[00:17:03.000]
Amber Winters: Next, the marketing materials, this is our tools option, so this is where we're going to find.

[00:17:08.580]
Amber Winters: You have a link to gail admin which is kind of the back end that you're going to most likely be working with as a librarian or as a staff member who may be in charge of your gail resources.

[00:17:18.930]
Amber Winters: Things like controlling passwords if you're working with a proxy will find all of that information on gail admin.

[00:17:25.830]
Amber Winters: We also have Gil pages, which is just a pre made web page for you, so if you don't want to update your current library web page, we do have a created Gill page for you, you can click here and take a look at that.

[00:17:37.650]
Amber Winters: Technical documents what I love about this is the filter on this left hand side, so, as I mentioned you'll have your information on your usage, if you want to integrate with an LM s you have that here.

[00:17:47.880]
Amber Winters: discovery authentication accessibility everything you need is going to be right here, and you can easily filter and just click into any of these here so we're talking about configuring firewalls just a quick bit of information, what you're going to need to know.

[00:18:05.400]
Amber Winters: And finally, under the tool section, we have our usage dashboard which again is a really great tool, if you are looking to pull us it's not just numbers.

[00:18:13.830]
Amber Winters: But we also give additional information like top search terms in your library, so if you want to see what your students or your faculty members or your patrons are searching for.

[00:18:23.760]
Amber Winters: you'll be able to do that on the usage dashboard you'll see you'll be able to click here, you will need your admin credentials, I will tell you how to get those at the end of the session

[00:18:33.480]
Amber Winters: But you'll be able to sign in put in your location and find all of that great information really on demand so you'll never need to you know call gail to try to figure out how to run a usage report or to sign up for usage reports.

[00:18:45.600]
Amber Winters: This is on demand ready to go when you're ready to go and I will say it usually updates for last month, usually on the first week of the next month, so for June.

[00:18:56.370]
Amber Winters: It was posted the first week of July, you could see the full June, you said so it does post by a month, as opposed to posting like by day, or by week, so it does kind of come over in monthly chunks for you.

[00:19:10.620]
Amber Winters: You have your connect with us which of course is obvious, give you information about your customer success manager if you're looking to talk to a sales REP you'll be able to do that here.

[00:19:19.920]
Amber Winters: This live training button, excuse me if we're running any sessions right now we don't have any upcoming webinars.

[00:19:27.780]
Amber Winters: But if we did have some you'll see them here and you'll be able to register for those upcoming sessions, these are going to be those at large webinars that I mentioned previously, so.

[00:19:37.590]
Amber Winters: it's going to be available for the full nation and some of them may not be as applicable to your resources through the Washington state library.

[00:19:47.100]
Amber Winters: And the last tab we're going to take a look at today is this Washington state library specific tab so you'll see we have two options, just to start off one to look at URLs or training let's just jump into URLs here.

[00:20:01.920]
Amber Winters: So, again i'm already signed it it's giving me.

[00:20:05.310]
Amber Winters: My URL I can actually access the product right from this page as well, so if I want to take a look just you know by cooking directly from the support site to they don't have that URL I can do that, right here.

[00:20:18.990]
Amber Winters: We have our training right next door.

[00:20:22.440]
Amber Winters: And you'll see here, these are the upcoming webinars specifically for the Washington state library, so if you wanted to sign up for any of these.

[00:20:30.720]
Amber Winters: you'll hit your register now button here and you'll just sign up for those and they come down as soon as the session has run and we put up the new ones, as soon as we get them scheduled.

[00:20:41.100]
Amber Winters: And then underneath that you're going to see the sessions that we've already done so, this is all of Washington state library, so you might see some that are specific for public libraries some that are specific for K 12.

[00:20:54.060]
Amber Winters: academic institutions if they are specific to one kind of institution type we're always going to tell you, and that's title there so you're going to know.

[00:21:04.170]
Amber Winters: So if it's not indicated that means it's going to be for everyone to see here we have a girl and context high school that anyone can attend ebooks all that good stuff right here on the supports support page.

[00:21:18.300]
Amber Winters: Again, we have our training alerts option here.

[00:21:21.720]
Amber Winters: So if you want to be alerted every time we schedule a new session you just enter your email and your institution name check your box a minute and you're good to go that'll get sent over to you automatically once we get new things scheduled.

[00:21:40.740]
Amber Winters: Let me jump back here.

[00:21:43.380]
Amber Winters: There we go and I do like to mention we link over to the Washington state library web page as well, so if you ever need to go there from the support site your website's listed here, you can easily jump over to that as well.

[00:21:58.410]
Amber Winters: Do we have any questions about what's available on the support site, it is pretty self explanatory but it's a pretty dense website as well, so any questions at all, before I move on just to briefly talk about your customer success manager.

[00:22:15.840]
Amber Winters: Okay, I don't see any questions so let's jump over then.

[00:22:23.910]
Amber Winters: So in addition to all that on demand material I mentioned for you, that you'll have access to really 24 seven whenever you need it, you also have access to a customer success manager, you may know them as yet, excuse me CSM.

[00:22:38.790]
Amber Winters: So they're here to really kind of promote you promote your resources, make sure you have everything you need to succeed.

[00:22:45.780]

[00:22:55.170]
Amber Winters: They can also help you with access so, even though we have that on demand tool talking about LM s integration.

[00:23:01.830]
Amber Winters: If you're still struggling about you just a little bit confused, you can contact your customer success manager and there'll be able to help you kind of walk through that process, a little bit as well.

[00:23:11.040]
Amber Winters: They may send you information, you may get emails sent over to you about product updates or.

[00:23:16.470]
Amber Winters: You know, new bits of information and your existing resources they are different than sales so they're never going to send you information on resources you don't have access to.

[00:23:25.950]
Amber Winters: But anything you do have access to that's been updated or changed most likely you'll get some sort of outreach from your customer success manager.

[00:23:34.530]
Amber Winters: they're also here to help with reviews so not only can they reviewing us it's trends and maybe discuss what might be causing say maybe a small decrease in usage.

[00:23:59.100]
Amber Winters: And I didn't mention but customer success managers are actually assigned specifically for the different institution types, so if you're an academic institution you're going to get an academically focused customer success manager.

[00:24:12.990]
Amber Winters: public libraries have customer success managers specifically who work only with public libraries and same for for K 12 so you really are.

[00:24:21.660]
Amber Winters: kind of getting it experts when you contact your customer success manager I do recommend knowing who that is so, if you ever need help it anytime you can shoot them an email and they'll be able to help you out.

Amber Winters: And that will forward you to the correct individual so that's monitored by one of the senior customer success managers, they take a look at our records and they forward you along to the correct person who's going to be working continuously with your institution.

[00:25:02.100]

[00:25:24.840]
Amber Winters: and your web page most likely, you should see a training session survey that has popped up I would love for you to take maybe the two minutes, it takes to fill that out.

[00:26:06.270]
Amber Winters: But again, since I don't see any.

[00:26:08.940]
