[00:01:20.000]

[00:01:23.000]
You also have one on one support at Gale you have gale, customer, success, managers, and they are there for exactly that one-on-one support and they specialize in their market.

[00:01:38.000]
So we have folks in the K. 12 market. We have folks in the public market, and then folks in the academic market, so I will share a general email address.

[00:01:47.000]
And just if you have any questions or want that one-on-one support, you can send an email, and we'll make sure that your customer success manager reaches out to you to connect and help you. And whichever way they can

[00:02:02.000]
So let's talk about the gale business resources that you have access to the first one.

[00:02:07.000]
We are going to talk, to talk about today is Gale business, entrepreneurship.

[00:02:12.000]
What you're going to find within this resource are real-world business plans, and we have hundreds over hundreds and hundreds of business plans available within this resource.

[00:02:23.000]
You'll also find reference works like the Encyclopedia of small business directories that are related to establishing, maintaining, or otherwise managing a small business.

[00:02:34.000]
Right now. A lot of business owners are dealing with employee, turnover, or you know, the challenge of of having employees that are willing to work.

[00:02:44.000]
So that's happening across the country. So we have helped within this resource there's a lot of information available to support those current business owners and then you'll find over 300 full text entrepreneurial and industry specific magazines and journals.

[00:03:01.000]
So this is one of the resources that we will be going into today.

[00:03:05.000]
Another one, and this one has had in December changed over to our new platform.

[00:03:13.000]
Here the great content is still available. If you were using Gil business insights before the the information is still there, it has just received some fantastic enhancements and has all the capabilities of your Gale resources available here within this resource, too, and what you will find in gale business insights

[00:03:33.000]
is Gale reference, content with overflow full text periodicals.

[00:03:38.000]
There are more than 430,000 detailed company profiles, and you're going to find company financial data index country overviews and comprehensive industry profiles there's over a 1,000 industries with industry reports, competitive landscapes, plunket reports, and

[00:03:58.000]
More. We have Swat, an Alice financial statements and case studies and articles, and then top industry information by country territory, and the companies base there with relevant article content

[00:04:13.000]
And the last resource we are going to go into today is from your one file product family in this one is Gale.

[00:04:18.000]
One file business. Now, if you're familiar with your one file resources, anything one file related has a period.

[00:04:27.000]
It's focused on our periodical. So periodical content, academic journals, newspapers, magazines.

[00:04:35.000]
So it has that more periodical focus of information, you will find some multimedia images and videos here.

[00:04:41.000]
But really this resource is comprehensive business resource for company.

[00:04:46.000]
News, for making personal investment decisions or for students majoring in business administration get one file business.

[00:04:53.000]
It provides a full text coverage of all business disciplines.

[00:04:57.000]
So it includes account economics, I should say, accounting or account economics, finance, marketing, management, and strategy, as well as business theory and practice.

[00:05:08.000]
You're looking for contact on activities of companies. This is a great resource for that, and also industries worldwide.

[00:05:16.000]
There's more than 4,000 business and trade publications, and these are being updated daily.

[00:05:21.000]
So this is a really good resource when you're looking for industries, specific information to see what's happening right now.

[00:05:30.000]
This is as I just said, it's being updated throughout the day.

[00:05:33.000]
Every day. And it's international Us. Regional news publications that you're going to find within this resource

[00:05:41.000]
Alright. So with that like let's jump into our first resource.

[00:05:43.000]
I want to spend the majority of our time within the resources.

[00:05:44.000]
If you have any questions, please be sure to ask me in that Q.

[00:05:45.000]
And a box. So we are going to start with scale business entrepreneurship.

[00:05:57.000]
Make sure that is

[00:06:06.000]
Okay. Hope. Oh, there we go! It wasn't showing me the share option.

[00:06:07.000]
There we go. Okay. Now I know for sure it's sharing this screen.

[00:06:12.000]
So gil business entrepreneurship. If you're familiar with your guale resources, you're going to see very similar to other gale resources that you've worked with.

[00:06:19.000]
We have the signing capabilities at the top.

[00:06:20.000]
If this is brand new to you, we do have workflow tools.

[00:06:26.000]
Where, in the upper right hand corner here, you can sign in with Google or Microsoft if you are coming to me from K.

[00:06:34.000]
12, or you're using Google classroom at all. In any of your library sites, and you sign in with Google and you're set up as a teacher.

[00:06:42.000]
You'll automatically be signed into Google classroom and can pull content directly into your Google classroom anytime.

[00:06:48.000]
You see, this little translate icon? That means that you can translate here.

[00:06:53.000]
You can translate the interface language so meaning if I and we're at 34 different languages here, meaning that if I want to translate my navigational tools, then I would use this feature at the top of my screen, so it's going to transmit this platform, or interface for

[00:07:13.000]
My users and the O. Over to the left. We have our basic search and advanced search, and then our contextual toolbar is over here to the right, where we have a glossary which is really helpful information especially when you're talking about business there might be terms.

[00:07:30.000]
If you have your patrons from your public library coming in here and maybe they're struggling with a term not fully understanding, or an acronym especially helpful for students at all levels from high school definitely into the college level.

[00:07:40.000]
And even small business owners that are starting to work with or developing their business or their ideas, or continuing their business and managing so we have those great glossary terms, and we have a few other items in this contextual toolbar now, nice thing is with this contextual toolbar is it will change depending on where i'm

[00:08:02.000]
At within the resource. So if I am at the document level, I'm going to see a few different tools here available.

[00:08:03.000]
But on the home page I have glossary. The ability to browse topics might take lists.

[00:08:15.000]
Search history. Now this is session based, and then get link and highlights and note. Get get.

[00:08:20.000]
Link provides a persistent URL back to any spot within the resource.

[00:08:25.000]
Highlights and notes is a a place that actually, if I do any highlighting on a document, it will collect just the information I've highlighted any notes I've taken, and I'll talk to you more about that, as we work through the resource as I scroll down I have topics

[00:08:42.000]
of interest, and these usually change, they usually change monthly or quarterly.

[00:08:48.000]
We have, and then we have these great subject categories organized here.

[00:08:53.000]
And this really takes you through that process. So where are you at?

[00:08:57.000]
Are you at the planning process of your business? Here's some option here's some suggested topics that we have available are you looking for funding?

[00:09:05.000]
You've already planned. You have an idea. Now you're looking for funding.

[00:09:09.000]
Now we can take you to that next up here are some topics, and these are suggested top pages.

[00:09:11.000]
And again, popular topic pages that are being accessed very often.

[00:09:19.000]
You're ready to start your business. Now, where do we go next?

[00:09:22.000]
And then you've had a business. You've established it, or you now have your business up and running.

[00:09:29.000]
How can you manage it? What are you running into? Here's that managing your employees that I was talking about?

[00:09:31.000]
And you're going to find great content available there.

[00:09:40.000]
Before I jump into that, I do wanna point out. And I did mention the glossary.

[00:09:44.000]
I just want to click into it real quick before we leave this home page.

[00:09:48.000]
Since we've taken a look at everything on the homepage, so you can see here it is alphabetical. But if I were looking for a specific term I could quickly type that into the glossary and find exactly what I'm looking for, and it'll filter it down for me

[00:10:08.000]
And as I start to type it in, you can see it's immediately starts to fill it, filter it down.

[00:10:14.000]
So, looking for joint venture, I can see over here on the right hand side, but a few other items are here available to, because I didn't finish what I was putting in that glass ring.

[00:10:24.000]
So it does filter down that content quite quickly.

[00:10:29.000]
Alright! So I always like to look at trending small businesses today.

[00:10:35.000]
Let's approach this as if we were exploring business plans we're getting ready to get started.

[00:10:42.000]
We're looking for business plans funding. We kind of want to get our feet wet here, and I'm looking to open a business, open a and and I'm specifically looking for.

[00:10:52.000]
It's going to be a woman owned business that I want to open, and what funding is available, or what are some ideas to get me started?

[00:11:05.000]
So women, own business. I have some ideas. I need some guidance and support where some basic searching, or what can I do?

[00:11:13.000]
I've been all over the web. It's overwhelming.

[00:11:14.000]
My librarian has directed me to this great resource, so how can I get started?

[00:11:21.000]
Well, a couple things I can do. Again. I pointed out these sections below, and they really are helpful.

[00:11:22.000]
But maybe if I want to look for you could see here trending small businesses, another route I like to take in this is a tip or trick on my end that I like to do is I actually like to go in and look at our business plans because let me show you why so our business.

[00:11:34.000]
Plans. We have over a 1,000 business plans available and why I like to go in this route because I can filter down by the newest and see this is another way to see what's trending these business plans are taken from successful.

[00:11:56.000]
Businesses, we change the name and the date, and then they're published here.

[00:12:01.000]
You may be very familiar with the business plans, Handbook.

[00:12:04.000]
That's where the information is coming from. So a lot of times.

[00:12:07.000]
That's the route I like to take, and I always like to point that out during my training sessions, because it's one of those tips and tricks.

[00:12:10.000]
Because you don't want to feel like you're overwhelmed with information.

[00:12:13.000]
But you want to find that content quickly. And this is another way.

[00:12:20.000]
You can go through the trending business topics. Page, just like we have our business plans.

[00:12:27.000]
Topic, page, but this is just another one to consider. So what I can do is on our topic.

[00:12:28.000]
Pages. We have this content type section in the center.

[00:12:36.000]
So we start with an image in an essay overview.

[00:12:39.000]
We have all of our different content types, available. As I scroll down I have the ability to search within my results, to drill down quickly, and then each of my content types are organized in these nice boxes or buckets, as I scroll down.

[00:12:54.000]
You're going to see if we happen to have any websites available that are safe.

[00:12:55.000]
Vetted websites. They are going to be listed here, too.

[00:12:58.000]
But I've got some video content and news and magazines, and there's a few directories available.

[00:13:07.000]
You'll see more when you get into industry. Specific information.

[00:13:10.000]
But I'm going to go into the business plans, and I can click on the title there or in the content type at the top.

[00:13:17.000]
And the reason why I like to go this route is because I like to search by or filter by what's the newest.

[00:13:24.000]
So I'm gonna sort by newest

[00:13:28.000]
And take a look at what's trending right now?

[00:13:29.000]
What are the newest business plans. This is in the most recent volume in Volume 56.

[00:13:35.000]
From this year, already published. So 2023, you have access to it here.

[00:13:36.000]
Digital access, unlimited access, Unlimited email download print of this information.

[00:13:45.000]
Or if you want to send these business plans to your Google, driver or Microsoft, one drive, you can do all of that from this resource. So I can look.

[00:13:47.000]
I'm looking at the list here. Here's a valet service, a pollstering carpet cleaning, when I was in here before piano tuning was really popular, it was one of the newer ones that was added and then there was a during covid or I should say after as we were

[00:14:11.000]
Coming out, of the 2,020 into the 2,021, 2,022 year.

[00:14:16.000]
I found that there was a business, and all that they did they were.

[00:14:20.000]
It was a restaurant business, but they didn't have an actual restaurant.

[00:14:23.000]
They only delivered. So I thought that was an interesting taste.

[00:14:27.000]
They they changed the title of the business, but then you have a complete business plan available.

[00:14:33.000]
Here's underwater photographers. So let's take a look at this one.

[00:14:39.000]
So when you click into our business plans, you can see on the right hand side we have an article content section.

[00:14:47.000]
So your table of contents for this article, and I can see all that I have available, and this will vary, depending on what information we're able to capture from that business.

[00:14:52.000]
We have some pretty basic items that will always be here.

[00:15:00.000]
But you might find some additional in other business plans, or you might find a few less items in other business plans.

[00:15:08.000]
But again, these are successful businesses, and we have again changed the name and any address information for these businesses.

[00:15:17.000]
But I can look at here. It starts with an executive summary industry analysis.

[00:15:21.000]
Maybe I want to look at personnel or growth strategy that might be something I'm interested in.

[00:15:26.000]
Here's the financial analysis evaluation and adjustment.

[00:15:29.000]
So I can quickly jump to any of these areas. I'm going to jump to growth strategy and it jumps me down to that section.

[00:15:36.000]
So here's your 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 selling.

[00:15:37.000]
However, many photos, and generating what net income, or gross revenue you can see. And here's some of those projections for this business

[00:15:52.000]
So you may have folks that are coming in that have an idea. Right?

[00:15:56.000]
Here's equipment charges that have an idea for a business.

[00:16:02.000]
But feeling a little overwhelmed with writing a business plan.

[00:16:06.000]
So what can they use as a mentor, text, or what can they use as a template?

[00:16:11.000]
Get some ideas? Can they find a business similar to theirs?

[00:16:15.000]
If, if not identical, but maybe in a different state or area, I should say that state, but in a different area.

[00:16:23.000]
Maybe they find this a business plan from business here. I'm in Michigan, from Michigan, and they want to make that business or or start that business in Washington, it's something that they can do. And they can use as a plan.

[00:16:37.000]
So we have these great business plans available within this resource.

[00:16:38.000]
What you're gonna find here on the right-hand side is in our explorer panel is additional information related to this business plan.

[00:16:46.000]
So all right. You found a business plan. What are you going to do with that?

[00:16:50.000]
Well, I can quickly send it to Google Microsoft email download or print.

[00:16:53.000]
I have those options up here in my contextual toolbar.

[00:16:57.000]
If you notice those tools changed for me, and then I wanna make sure I send it.

[00:17:01.000]
So if I want to keep this document, I can send it to my Google drive.

[00:17:05.000]
But then, if I want to explore another area, I can use my explorer panel so you can see how you can very quickly send information to your Google drive Microsoft.

[00:17:13.000]
One drive email download or print, or maybe I'm working with a mentor, or I'm a professor at the academic level.

[00:17:28.000]
And I want to share information with my students. I can use the git link tool.

[00:17:32.000]
And I can use this, and and from any spot within this resource I do be at this document level and use a git link tool, and it provides a persistent URL back to this exact spot, coming from a public library if you're focusing on small business, it's a new year.

[00:17:42.000]
And that happens a lot in our public library. A part of your programming is focusing on businesses and small businesses.

[00:17:54.000]
Maybe this is something you're interested in. Maybe you were interested in pulling out specific documents or topic pages for your patrons that are coming into your library.

[00:18:05.000]
So that git link tool can be extremely helpful. I'm going to go back out to that topic page for your users, even from.

[00:18:13.000]
And I'm going to filter back out all content types.

[00:18:19.000]
From this point. So if I want to include all of this content, or I want my complete, you know, topic page with the image and essay overview that git link tool, I can pull that content together for my users, another thing I can do is if I am coming using Google classroom maybe you're coming to me

[00:18:38.000]
From a K. 12 library. Wherever I have talked about using git link, you can also pull that same information into Google classroom.

[00:18:40.000]
So the topic page, or if I filtered down the results, maybe I'm looking for a certain subject.

[00:18:51.000]
I just want small business business plans. I can do that. Use.

[00:18:55.000]
Get link and share that information again. If I'm at the document level

[00:19:05.000]
Again. I can share at the document level, too, so I like to think of it as a as a funnel where the largest part being that topic page, and as you continue to go down that funnel it drills down to exactly that specific content.

[00:19:20.000]
So keep that in mind that you can share that information, using both those tools.

[00:19:21.000]
So those are great workflow tools that you have available.

[00:19:28.000]
Alright. Let's go back out to that homepage

[00:19:32.000]
I talk to you about a few other items, and then I do want to jump into the next resource.

[00:19:38.000]
So when you're looking for funding, we have angel investors, which is a really popular topic, page or loans and grants.

[00:19:44.000]
Are there any government funding options, especially now? There's even some more options available self funding.

[00:19:50.000]
If you're looking to self fund, I mean, that's something to consider.

[00:19:51.000]
And what that's going to look like. So let's say we're going to look at angel investors again.

[00:20:00.000]
Here's the image and overview on the screen page.

[00:20:01.000]
And this is also, if you have users coming into your library.

[00:20:08.000]
Looking and scrolling through this content suggest that they get started here on the essay overview.

[00:20:14.000]
To really understand. Okay, what is this all about? Do I really is this where I want to go?

[00:20:18.000]
Or do I want to look at funding, self-funding, or taking out a loan, or grant if they want a quick overview of angel investors, and venture venture capitalists?

[00:20:23.000]
Take a look at this article first

[00:20:32.000]
Okay. Alright! Maybe this is one you want to link out for your library programming.

[00:20:36.000]
And you wanna share this with folks. That is a great idea, too.

[00:20:42.000]
As I scroll down you can see the contents a little different now.

[00:20:45.000]
I have just 3 business plans because I'm looking at funding, but I'm going to see I have 89 different recommended resources.

[00:20:53.000]
There's some videos. Available directories, directories, great information, especially if you're looking for industry, specific information conferences, ways to network.

[00:21:02.000]
Those directories are really helpful for your entrepreneurs and small business owners and students to audio files, websites, magazines, and journals and news.

[00:21:15.000]
Now let's go into financing your venture.

[00:21:16.000]
Here's the oh, that's the one at the top.

[00:21:19.000]
Let's go into source capital. How do I get along?

[00:21:23.000]
There are some tools to support accessibility that I want to share with you.

[00:21:28.000]
So we do have the ability to translate the article into over 40 languages.

[00:21:33.000]
Now this is separate than the translate I talked to at the beginning of the session today, so that is at the top.

[00:21:40.000]
Still, and that's at 34 languages.

[00:21:41.000]
And remember that translates your navigational tools. We're here when you are at the document level, you can translate the text into over 40 languages.

[00:21:51.000]
I can decrease or increase the font size I have display options where I can change the color behind the text.

[00:21:54.000]
I can change the font I can change the line letter, and word spacing, and the nice thing is is, once I set this up on my very first document.

[00:22:04.000]
It sticks with me throughout the session. So wherever I go, I'm going to have this setup exactly as I need it.

[00:22:14.000]
So it meets my needs as I'm doing my reading and research to go back to the default settings just open that box back up and then click done it's in the bottom left there.

[00:22:22.000]
If I want to listen to the text being read aloud to me, I'll I do is click that.

[00:22:29.000]
Listen, button, and it'll turn the text to speech if I have.

[00:22:30.000]
Translated, and then click, listen. It will read that text to me in that language.

[00:22:38.000]
Now I will just a little note here. Translate. We're at 40 languages for the listen.

[00:22:44.000]
Feature. The languages that we have available. We're actually at 24.

[00:22:49.000]
They are the most used languages, so chances are your users are going to find exactly what they need.

[00:22:55.000]
Our quick! Send options are also here, and again we have the get link up at the top right one more tool.

[00:23:02.000]
I want to cover before we leave this resource, and that is highlights and notes.

[00:23:04.000]
So if you have, maybe there's a chunk of text

[00:23:12.000]
I just click and drag, select the color. Maybe this is for a paper I'm working on, or I'm pulling together information on funding.

[00:23:21.000]
I want to share this with my business partner, future business partner.

[00:23:33.000]
And I'm just taking very brief notes here and saving that now best practice is to send this information.

[00:23:40.000]
Send this entire document that you've marked up you can send it to Google.

[00:23:44.000]
Microsoft email. I can download or print. Now I was down here.

[00:23:50.000]
I don't know if you noticed, but my toolbar stuck with me.

[00:23:53.000]
My citation is automatically attached to every single document, so if I've marked up this document and I send it to my Google drive, it's going to land in a folder titled Gale business entrepreneurship, and it is going to be marked up exactly like

[00:24:07.000]
This I'll have my notes I'll have everything I need.

[00:24:11.000]
The citation will also be included. If I need just a citation, I can click on the citation tool, and it will pull that siteitation for me.

[00:24:19.000]
I can change the format. I can also do that at the bottom of my document.

[00:24:23.000]
Change the format, I can also choose where I'd like to export it to.

[00:24:28.000]
Now, what's happening as I'm highlighting away now.

[00:24:30.000]
Best practice. I've already sent this whole document to my Google drive because I wanna make sure that I have it.

[00:24:31.000]
But I also have this highlights and notes section that's being built out.

[00:24:40.000]
And this is just what I've highlighted and just my notes.

[00:24:41.000]
I can edit my notes if I want to. My Bibliography is attached so great for our students.

[00:24:45.000]
That are utilizing this resource, I can change the format.

[00:24:55.000]
I also have some options over here. My contextual toolbar, where I can just send these digital notes.

[00:25:01.000]
I can download or print. I can also label these 2 colors.

[00:25:06.000]
So I have green and purple if I want to label them over here, I'll have that highlight legend, and it will go if I send this to my Google drive.

[00:25:16.000]
I'll have these digital notes again in a folder titled gale business, entrepreneurship, and I will have all this information including the legend I created.

[00:25:26.000]
We do have this warning, and here's a tip you wanna make sure if you just want these digital notes that you come into this section before you leave your session, otherwise it will be lost. You're not.

[00:25:31.000]
Your users are not creating accounts on their Gale resources.

[00:25:40.000]
So if they want these, what I call digital notes, then they'll want to make sure they come into the highlights and notes section and send that information somewhere.

[00:25:46.000]
That's why my best practice is in case they forget to do that.

[00:25:49.000]
If they send their entire document somewhere, they at least have that, just in case they forget to go into the highlights and notes.

[00:26:02.000]
Alright! Let me know if there are any questions that you have.

[00:26:04.000]
We are going to go into our next resource, and this is our newest one, just as I said, it was just officially launched in December.

[00:26:10.000]
So this is gale business insights. It has existed for a long time.

[00:26:20.000]
We had 2 2 different resources that are now one. We have global, any essential skill, business or business insights, global and business insights, essentials and now it is all one big, robust resource.

[00:26:35.000]
So with this resource, just a reminder, I know I shared this during the beginning over during our Powerpoint.

[00:26:41.000]
But this provides global business intelligence designed for business professionals entrepreneurs, students, and general researchers so you will find all of that content over 430,000 company profiles available within this resource.

[00:26:50.000]
So let's take a look at it and there's some great information on the homepage we have, you can see, set up similar to entrepreneurship, and we may not have our topic pages, because this is this is designed a little bit differently, but we do have some great information on

[00:27:13.000]
the homepage. You still have that basic search and advanced search option.

[00:27:18.000]
You have your contextual toolbar here, as I scroll down.

[00:27:22.000]
I absolutely love. How this homepage is organized. So you're going to see these hubs on the right hand or on the left hand side, where I can browse all companies.

[00:27:32.000]
I have my most search company showing up here on the center of my page as I scroll down.

[00:27:38.000]
Am I looking for business publications? Here's the most used business publications, and 8 under each hub.

[00:27:46.000]
Here I have the option to bruise, browse all those publications.

[00:27:51.000]
My researching by topic, my looking at diversity, equity, and inclusion in my business.

[00:27:57.000]
This is information or topics that are being accessed. The most here's the most used, and then you have explore industries.

[00:28:05.000]
So, looking specifically at coffee and tea, manufacturing or understanding.

[00:28:09.000]
Major markets. And here is where that country and Territory section is.

[00:28:15.000]
Now what you can also do is under your brow. Section.

[00:28:20.000]
Here you have all of those areas industries, countries, territories, publications.

[00:28:26.000]
You also have topics which is on this home page, but you also have glossary so we have that glossary section just as we did in the previous resource, which is really helpful to have in this one, too.

[00:28:37.000]
You want to go directly to financial reports or investment reports.

[00:28:40.000]
We have those options available looking to compare. So if you want to compare, I'm going to go here first and then come back to my home page.

[00:28:49.000]
I want to compare companies or industries, or countries and territories.

[00:28:54.000]
I have some options in a chart or a table.

[00:28:57.000]
If you noticed here I have 3 companies that I can compare. So maybe I want to compare

[00:29:05.000]
Amazon. And let's do Walmart

[00:29:13.000]
And I want to compare the revenue. You can see here, I can go still.

[00:29:18.000]
Go to the company profiles, but here I can compare that information as I move my cursor, you can see more information, a little bit more information on that revenue.

[00:29:28.000]
If I'm looking at employees, I can also select the metrics here and select employees have both, or remove one and just have one or the other.

[00:29:38.000]
I can send this information download, print this information, and also use get link.

[00:29:45.000]
So a lot of those same tools are here available within this resource.

[00:29:46.000]
To that. We're in entrepreneurship.

[00:29:47.000]
So that's a beauty of your gale resources. You're going to find tools and features shared across all of them.

[00:29:57.000]
Let's go back to that homepage, because I wanna talk to you about when you are accessing information.

[00:30:05.000]
So I do have to say when I'm looking specifically for a company, you can do a basic search.

[00:30:07.000]
I do suggest you using the browse all company section.

[00:30:16.000]
And this is why, when I go into that company, I get this great profile information organized exactly how you're seeing it on the page.

[00:30:26.000]
When I do a search, let me show you the difference

[00:30:32.000]
So if I'm going to Amazon, if I just do a basic search, I would suggest again using your company profiles.

[00:30:40.000]
If I just click enter, I'm typing in Amazon real quick.

[00:30:43.000]
I'm going to get this result. So if you ever do that, there's the difference between the 2.

[00:30:49.000]
Okay, you're getting all kinds of great information. But if you're looking for that profile page, please be sure, even when you're using basic search, that you use search, assist.

[00:31:05.000]
To go to that company profile. Page. Okay. Looking to share this information.

[00:31:10.000]
Don't forget you have that. Get link tool available. Now, we don't have Google classroom available in this resource.

[00:31:17.000]
But we do have the get link tool available where you can share information.

[00:31:21.000]
So grab that persistent URL back to this company profile.

[00:31:25.000]
Now, what are we seeing in this profile? This is a public company.

[00:31:26.000]
So we're seeing the website. We're seeing social media.

[00:31:32.000]
And you may see a lot of this, too, for the private, the privately owned companies, too.

[00:31:38.000]
You may not have as much, though so we're seeing the revenue.

[00:31:39.000]
How many employees you can read this information. I'm not going to read it to you, but as I scroll down I want to point out a few other items, you have your company overview.

[00:31:51.000]
We have some in-depth articles, so call Company History Company details like brands and leadership, and the nice thing is when I click on leadership, I get this nice pop-up here that talks to me about and quickly shares the leadership information Swat analysis what is a swat analysis if especially

[00:32:09.000]
If you're working with students, this is going to be helpful information.

[00:32:13.000]
I can read my full swat analysis here. So let me click on that link and it opens up that swat analysis where I can.

[00:32:21.000]
I can increase the size of this if I want, I can see it's 5 pages long.

[00:32:22.000]
I can also print this download it right onto my device.

[00:32:30.000]
Or do I want to send it to my Google drive or Microsoft?

[00:32:33.000]
One drive. So all those options are available in the Swat analysis, and I can scroll down and take a look at that

[00:32:42.000]
Okay. And this is at global data. If you use this resource before, if you're new to it, then this is going to be new information.

[00:32:48.000]
But it's the same information that we had before, and we do have it still available within this resource.

[00:32:56.000]
Or I should say, in the enhanced resource financial performance.

[00:33:00.000]
You can see the information here in a quick view, where you have the balance sheet, the cash flow, the income statement, the ratios.

[00:33:04.000]
I want all the reports for the investment report scrolling down.

[00:33:15.000]
I have this great financial performance over time, but I also have the option to go to the compare tool.

[00:33:20.000]
So you're gonna see some hyperlinked information.

[00:33:21.000]
When I go to the balance sheet

[00:33:26.000]
The nice thing is is, once I'm here I have some options.

[00:33:27.000]
I have all those items that were on that company. Profile are also listed here.

[00:33:35.000]
Income statement, cash flow statement, ratios. Here's investment reports.

[00:33:36.000]
I also have any sec filings, which is really helpful.

[00:33:41.000]
If you're looking at investing in a company to see if there are any.

[00:33:42.000]
Sec filings. So here's that balance sheet.

[00:33:49.000]
I have some options I can look at reporting quarterly, and it's going to adjust.

[00:33:55.000]
I can look at the past 2 quarters or if I'm looking at annually, look at the it'll compare the last 2 years.

[00:34:02.000]
I can also compare this with another company, and I can do that by name or ticker symbol.

[00:34:08.000]
I have the options to show all makers, and I can download this data.

[00:34:14.000]
So if I want to download it, I can put it right onto my own device, and then I still have that get Link option up here in the upper right hand corner

[00:34:24.000]
You can see all this great information that we're capturing.

[00:34:28.000]
If I want to jump to income statements again, I have that same filter option on the right hand side, and I can take a look at those income statements, cash flow ratios, investment reports all work very similar.

[00:34:38.000]
Just the content's going to be different. Sec. Filing.

[00:34:47.000]
Let's see what's happening here, so I can search within.

[00:34:50.000]
Maybe I heard something in the news and I want to find out more information about it.

[00:34:53.000]
I can come directly into this resource. Search for whatever that term is, and find that content.

[00:34:54.000]
Specifically because we're going to have that sec filings information

[00:35:04.000]
This will take me to, just to let you know when you click on that link.

[00:35:07.000]
It'll take you outside a gale to another website to where you can find that content.

[00:35:13.000]
Okay, so, but we do have anything that. And the date that it's been filed here available.

[00:35:14.000]
So just something on the sixth of February. Here

[00:35:26.000]
Let's go back to our company. Profile

[00:35:31.000]
Below.

[00:35:34.000]
You're going to find competitor information. I use. Walmart because it is one of the bigger competitors to Amazon.

[00:35:42.000]
You also are on the right hand side, are going to find industry, information, so this is a lecture shopping and mail order houses you're going to find if you want view company, secondary industries because Amazon does have secondary companies.

[00:35:50.000]
You can find that information, and in and specific information on those industries.

[00:35:57.000]
If I want to compare the companies just as I could up top.

[00:36:04.000]
So I have that compare Option. I can quickly go to in my contextual toolbar up top.

[00:36:09.000]
I showed you. Compare right as soon as we logged into this resource.

[00:36:13.000]
I have that compare Option here, but I also have it here.

[00:36:14.000]
So we give it. We provide it for you in different locations.

[00:36:20.000]
I have end industry, classification, where I can browse all industries, and then below is where I'm going to find all kinds of great company articles.

[00:36:30.000]
I have that ability to search within. I can go directly into a content type.

[00:36:35.000]
Maybe I want all just all the market research reports. Now, this looks very similar to entrepreneurship that we were in, and we were looking at article content where I can filter my results searching within or looking for a certain subject I'm looking for revenue.

[00:36:51.000]
Or I just want all full text documents I can do that, and it will again.

[00:36:54.000]
These filters will apply to all of my content at one time, if I have filtered it down again, I want to share it.

[00:37:02.000]
Don't forget I have that get link feature available, and I can also, when I'm at these on the documents, the reference, the the periodical content, any trade journal articles, as you can see, we have over 10,000 trade journal articles related to Amazon.

[00:37:19.000]
I can share this information in Google classroom. So you can see that Icon is back.

[00:37:20.000]
So I can share this type of information. There

[00:37:28.000]
Alright! If I want to share that company profile, though, I'll want to use the get link tool.

[00:37:33.000]
You can see, Google classroom is no longer there at the top.

[00:37:39.000]
Alright. So another thing that I can do is if I'm looking at so let's say I want to compare.

[00:37:46.000]
I looked at a spi particular business. Let's say I want to look at global.

[00:37:47.000]
Maybe I want to compare countries, and I'm looking at.

[00:37:54.000]
What's the United States

[00:38:01.000]
And to China.

[00:38:07.000]
And what am I looking at now? Maybe I want to look at gross domestic product or gross national income.

[00:38:08.000]
Let's look at gross domestic product

[00:38:20.000]
And the below is my key, where that gross national income, as compared to China, where us and China land, you can see the graph on the right side, and I can change it from a chart to a table.

[00:38:35.000]
If I prefer that view, and don't forget you can send this information download or print this information off

[00:38:43.000]
Alright. Maybe I'm looking at population growth, and I can multi-select, if you're seeing here, I can multi select unemployment rate

[00:38:56.000]
Imports. So you can add all of that information. Looking at those territories.

[00:39:01.000]
Maybe that's a task that your students are have you know, if you're you're coming back from a higher education.

[00:39:08.000]
And this is something that you're utilizing. Your business students are studying.

[00:39:13.000]
This is a great tool for them to use

[00:39:17.000]
Or maybe you're looking to grow your company globally where is it?

[00:39:20.000]
Where does it make sense to grow, to alright? Let me know if there are any questions about this resource, it really is a great one to really just dive in and do some exploration even from that homepage.

[00:39:33.000]
If I did want to look for what publications I let me show you this real quick.

[00:39:35.000]
So if I was going into publications, I can filter by on the left hand side.

[00:39:42.000]
This is where I can find the most recent publication, and you can see we have February the eighth.

[00:39:47.000]
We have a magazine. They're the same article magazine news article here from the Economist.

[00:39:49.000]
So that's what. From that homepage, if I'm utilizing my most used publications, I can quickly jump to any of those.

[00:39:54.000]
Also let me go into topics, especially when we're talking about diversity.

[00:39:59.000]
And inclusion, because you know, you have a lot of businesses that are looking to grow in many ways. Right?

[00:40:06.000]
So? Why not access some of these topics that other businesses are utilizing?

[00:40:11.000]
These are some of our most popular ones. And what's happening?

[00:40:19.000]
Where can I find information in trade journals or is there reference, or is there any academic journals or mark research reports that will help support me in my endeavors that I'm trying to accomplish in my business?

[00:40:32.000]
If you look to the right hand side, you also have some filters here, so be careful when you, when you click on these, because if we're not on swat analysis, then it's going to remove everything, and you're going to get a message that says that we don't have anything which we do have

[00:40:48.000]
Swat analysis, but just not on this topic of diversity and inclusion.

[00:40:54.000]
So maybe I want to filter to just full text documents and it'll filter down all of that content for me.

[00:41:00.000]
Okay, so lots of filter options ways to find that information quickly, especially even from that homepage.

[00:41:08.000]
Alright! The last resource. I am just going to touch into is your gale.

[00:41:09.000]
One file, business, and what I want to share with you. Here is a couple things.

[00:41:18.000]
So again, homepage looks very similar, but here you have.

[00:41:21.000]
I'm sorry. Banner looks very similar. Homepage looks very different.

[00:41:26.000]
Here you have the ability with of some search options right on the home page.

[00:41:30.000]
So you have basic advance. But you also have topic, finder, subject, guide, search, publication, search, are all here on the homepage.

[00:41:38.000]
Maybe I want to take a look at cryptocurrency.

[00:41:42.000]
I have. I can do a basic search. I can go into topic, finder.

[00:41:47.000]
If I do a basic search, let me show you how it pulls back those results

[00:41:55.000]
Oops! Make me sign back in hold on a second when you are it's about 20 to 30 min away from your resource, and I did log in a little bit ago.

[00:42:05.000]
It will time you out, and you will have to put your password back in.

[00:42:10.000]
Nice thing is, it took me right to my search term. I just had to verify that it was.

[00:42:15.000]
Still, I still had that password information so 2 academic journals, magazines, and some newspaper articles.

[00:42:23.000]
Again. I have that git link option. Another option that is available in our one file resources is setting up a search alert.

[00:42:30.000]
So on any time. I've done a basic search. If I want to set up a search alert, I can set that up to be emailed to me.

[00:42:35.000]
And I can choose how often, or I have the Rss feed, I can just grab that code and put it right into my Rss. Feed

[00:42:47.000]
So if I were doing a basic search, or let's look at topic finder, because topic finders a visual representation of your search results.

[00:42:55.000]
And it's interactive

[00:43:05.000]
And here are my results. So this is a little different, because you do have this tool available it's not going to be in on business insights.

[00:43:12.000]
But you have it available here in this resource, and entrepreneurship, where you can use that visual interactive tool.

[00:43:19.000]
I have tiles or wheel. 2 different visualizations.

[00:43:24.000]
Maybe I'm looking at the cryptocurrency market.

[00:43:28.000]
I click into it, and I can drill down. I'm looking at market report for 2022 or financial markets and on the right hand side it will adjust that content.

[00:43:40.000]
Related to the tile that I've selected maybe I want to go to Bitcoin and explore that information further.

[00:43:47.000]
So this is looking at the keywords that are in that are shown here in the Graphic are the ones that are found more often often in the text based on my search term of cryptocurrency.

[00:44:02.000]
Alright. So that's just a search option that you have available.

[00:44:03.000]
If I did a basic search again on cryptocurrency and wanted to filter down that content by bitcoin or Doj Coin, I could do that by using my search within.

[00:44:17.000]
So all those don't forget you have that filter bar on the right hand side, but you're going to find within this resource a lot more of the periodical content, academic journals, magazines, newspapers.

[00:44:26.000]
