Duration: 30 Minutes
[00:00:02.000]
Welcome to your TexShare training session today we will be focusing on preventing learning loss, using your gale, elementary resources, the focus of our training is on the activities and projects available to support the prevention of learning loss over the summer months and to help parents and guardians discover the resources that they

[00:00:25.000]
have available from TexShare for their elementary age, child and for you all to promote the fun learning that can happen all summer long.

[00:00:33.000]
My name is Tammi Burke. I'm your senior guil trainer, and any questions that you have please feel free to stop me along the way and ask in that box.

[00:00:43.000]
I'm happy to answer them at any time. Alright, our agenda today I will start with what is available.

[00:00:45.000]
So you have quite a few resources available from TexShare. And we are going to touch into a couple of those today.

[00:00:57.000]
I will share with you where you can find all of the activities and projects that we have available.

[00:01:03.000]
And we are continuously adding more. We just added some for the summer to support that summer learning, and then how you can share content within the resources.

[00:01:13.000]
So either the materials that I'm going share with you the activities and projects, and also how you can share content within your gale resources, and then where you can go for additional support, I'll share at the end of the session.

[00:01:27.000]
So you have quite a few text share resources available. Those that are used a lot at the elementary and middle school and high school levels and are more of that cross-curricular general reference.

[00:01:41.000]
You'll see here on the screen now. So the 3 we're going to go into for elementary are Miss Humble Bees Academy, National Geographic Kids, and Gale In context, elementary.

[00:01:53.000]
So you do also have the 3 building blocks, elementary middle school and high school in your in context, product, family.

[00:02:00.000]
Those we call the building blocks, because we started them in elementary take you all the way through to high school, and they're also cross-curricular general reference as is your ebook collection that you have available from texture.

[00:02:13.000]
The nice thing is is any Gale ebooks that texture has purchased for everyone in Texas that are the at the elementary age.

[00:02:22.000]
So k. 5. They will live also in Gale In context, elementary.

[00:02:23.000]
So for those younger users, it's a one stop shop.

[00:02:30.000]
They can go right into Gale In context elementary also.

[00:02:34.000]
Coming this fall we will be adding National Geographic kids also into Gale In context, elementary.

[00:02:37.000]
So all 3 resources will be available in one spot for your elementary users that are coming into your public library.

[00:02:49.000]
So keep that in mind. It is happening sometime this fall.

[00:02:52.000]
But right now all 3 are accessible individually. But again, remember those ebooks are already loaded there for your elementary users to finish out that in context, suite, you can see we have environmental studies opposing viewpoints science and biography.

[00:03:08.000]
These are utilized more at the middle school and definitely the high school level.

[00:03:12.000]
You also have great periodical content that I just want to mention, and those are in our gale.

[00:03:18.000]
One file product, family. So your best general reference, general interests, largest periodical resource you have from Gale is Gale General 1, 5, academic, one file is great for our higher Ed.

[00:03:31.000]
Again all periodical content. You're going to find here for our literature, resources.

[00:03:35.000]
You have literature, resource, center and Litfinder literature, resource center is great for that.

[00:03:36.000]
Analysis, Literary work, analysis, authors also lit. Finder is a fantastic one.

[00:03:48.000]
If you're looking for full text poems or speeches, if you're looking for full text poems or speeches, if you're looking for short stories, health and wellness is a great one for that consumer health approach or could consumer health information so for your patrons coming into your public

[00:04:09.000]
library. Maybe you have a program on Alzheimer's and dementia, and that's part of your programming.

[00:04:16.000]
And you're looking for digital resources to support that up-to-date content that's being updated all day throughout the day.

[00:04:22.000]
Health and wellness is a great one to support that type of programming.

[00:04:23.000]
Chilton Library is great, for your car. Enthusiasts, or for your mechanics.

[00:04:31.000]
These are books that they have on their shelves. They have very thin paper, and now they can access them digitally, most mechanics now are accessing information from their cell phone or from an ipad.

[00:04:42.000]
Why not connect them to your library? Because now you have all of that content available digitally for them, and the newest at one of the newer editions, I should say, is Gale interactive science.

[00:04:53.000]
This is a great resource for interactive 3 DX.

[00:05:00.000]
To access all of your TexShare resources. You can go to the tech, share support site and find your library and utilize your direct Urls directly from that support site.

[00:05:10.000]
You can post them wherever your patrons are accessing your digital content.

[00:05:11.000]
And I. We are going to go to this site today. And that's how you're going to find some of those training materials that I'm going to share with you.

[00:05:23.000]
Let first let's talk about those scale elementary resources that you have available.

[00:05:24.000]
So you understand them a little bit better to foster early literacy skills, and really has a great game type.

[00:05:36.000]
Feeling is Miss Humble bees. Academy. Miss Humblebee's Academy is standard based.

[00:05:42.000]
It is for preschool to elementary. It's thematic, based curriculum for ages 3 through 6.

[00:05:46.000]
You're going to find key concepts in art music fitness, language, and literacy.

[00:05:54.000]
Math, science, social studies and social emotional learning or character traits.

[00:05:58.000]
There are great principle, lesson plans, and also great printable activities available within this resource.

[00:06:01.000]
It's great for parents, parents can create an account right on this resource, and then they can add as many children as they want.

[00:06:13.000]
You'll see when I access mine. I have all 3 kids of my kids listed there.

[00:06:19.000]
In my account. So from one access point, they can create an account and have all 3, or however many students or children that they want on their account.

[00:06:31.000]
There's also multiple paths to learning and though that's what we're going to talk about today, so that you fully understand and then there's a new teach me learning path.

[00:06:39.000]
And also interactive ebooks.

[00:06:44.000]
The next resource. We are going to talk about is National Geographic Kids in National Geographic Kids.

[00:06:50.000]
It is designed for our elementary students, but it really isn't available to anyone.

[00:06:51.000]
And you with its National Geographic. You have those great images and videos available.

[00:07:00.000]
But you also have all of the magazine content and book content available so you're gonna find everything from National Geographic kids, magazines, all of the National Geographic Kids, books.

[00:07:07.000]
Also including the National Geographic Kids, Ladders, book.

[00:07:17.000]
And then finally, our last resource to wrap it all up, that we will be covering Gale In context, elementary Galey context, elementary, great for that trusted reference, top variable periodical content, fantastic videos, images.

[00:07:33.000]
We have infographics here available, organized by these great topic pages, and also books.

[00:07:39.000]
You also have to support those curriculum standards.

[00:07:42.000]
So again, we're talking about preventing that learning loss.

[00:07:46.000]
We have those frequently studied topics that are happening in schools, that students can also explore and enjoy and learn throughout the summer animals.

[00:07:49.000]
Life, Nature, History, Geography, Science, Health, Literature, and more.

[00:08:01.000]
And then to enhance that teaching and learning it really is a safe place to find answers to questions.

[00:08:06.000]
So if you are having working on your summer programming, or your summer reading, or you have home schoolers come forward and you're looking for information.

[00:08:15.000]
This is a great resource to connect them to, because they are going to be able to practice their research skills, but also explore their interests all at the same time.

[00:08:25.000]
Gale In context. Middle school is not one we are going to go into.

[00:08:28.000]
But I do want to mention it is available in case you have students that are coming into your library.

[00:08:29.000]
Looking for this type of general reference content. They're exploring different ideas.

[00:08:38.000]
They want up-to-date information, and it's a safe place for them to learn and explore all kinds of great content.

[00:08:45.000]
There's great multimedia videos and images available within this resource, too.

[00:08:50.000]
But it's also great for those creative works and primary sources.

[00:08:54.000]
And there's even some great science experiment activities. So if you are doing any science programming in your library this summer, we have experiments available in gal and context middle.

[00:09:06.000]
Some tools. I want you to keep in mind, and the first one is talking about sharing, content.

[00:09:11.000]
So this is also a great way for you all to share content within your library.

[00:09:15.000]
You can use the get link tool which I'll model for you today.

[00:09:20.000]
If you're and now you're mainly coming from a public library.

[00:09:21.000]
I don't know if we have any academic folks on the line today, but sharing to Google classroom is something that teachers do.

[00:09:28.000]
So if you're familiar with this or if you're building out, if you want to use Google classroom that they do happen to have a free site available that you can utilize, I believe it's still available.

[00:09:36.000]
Not a Google expert. But this is something that students are doing in schools in Texas.

[00:09:46.000]
So, maybe it's something you would like to incorporate in your public library.

[00:09:50.000]
And then we have the great send to feature that's also available to support accessible learning.

[00:09:55.000]
So we have great tools to support accessibility. We have the translate feature where you can translate the text into over 40 languages, you can increase the font size.

[00:10:00.000]
You can listen to the text being read aloud to you, and then there's display options where you can even change the font to open dyslexic if that's one that your users need to encourage analysis.

[00:10:14.000]
We have the highlights and notes feature, and it really promotes that deeper learning, but it's great for color, coding and annotation within the text and within the articles to develop research skills.

[00:10:26.000]
We have the topic tree available in Gale In context, elementary and topic finder is not available in these 3 resources.

[00:10:29.000]
It is available in middle school and the middle school resource, and it's just one of the search options.

[00:10:30.000]
It is available in middle school and the middle school resource. And it's just one of the search options.

[00:10:41.000]
Pretty much your elementary students, that age of students is, they're going to be pointing and clicking.

[00:10:47.000]
They're not doing a lot of that putting in terms, but some are at the upper elementary level.

[00:10:49.000]
Some are starting to do that, but we see primarily that they're pointing and clicking through the resources.

[00:10:58.000]
So with that, let's dive in. We're first going to go into all of the materials that you have available.

[00:11:01.000]
So if you would like to open a Google Doc or a Microsoft, I'm sorry. Yes, a Google Doc or a Microsoft word, Doc, to keep these links because I am going to share with you in the chat.

[00:11:18.000]
I'm going to post some links that you may want, or you may just want to bookmark them, and I don't want to lose you.

[00:11:19.000]
So if you want to copy and paste them and visit them later, I am going to share them with you here on the screen, so I don't want to lose you in those links.

[00:11:28.000]
This is a decision I decide to make to share with you these materials. First.

[00:11:32.000]
And then understand what, how they connect to your resources. So the first link I'm going to share is for your support site to text share.

[00:11:46.000]
And this is your Gale support site, and let me share that screen with you also.

[00:11:51.000]
Right now.

[00:11:55.000]
Okay, so this is a great site to bookmark, because what you can easily do is enter in your library name.

[00:12:01.000]
If you're not familiar with this, let me share this with you.

[00:12:04.000]
So I am going to look for the I'm gonna use the TexShare public library, main access.

[00:12:07.000]
You can find your library name I you can see. I barely typed in the entire title.

[00:12:17.000]
My search assist is helping me out, and I can see this is the one I know that I want texture, main access, public.

[00:12:18.000]
You are going to look for your your let me go back here.

[00:12:28.000]
Maybe I'm looking for Austin Public Library. You are going to look for your site.

[00:12:34.000]
Here's Austin Public Library. I click into this all of my direct Urls are going to have my location.

[00:12:35.000]
Id built in these are ones that I'm going to want to copy and paste.

[00:12:45.000]
If you aren't using them yet. I highly suggest, here we go.

[00:12:51.000]
I highly suggest using your own individual direct Urls, because you can pull usage reports and take a look at what are some top searches that are happening in my library or at this branch, so keep that in.

[00:13:08.000]
Mind. I mean, there's so many other tools available on that usage dashboard, and so many benefits to using your individual direct.

[00:13:10.000]
Urls, so I have logged in. I can go to my ebooks.

[00:13:20.000]
I can go to training, which I'm going to show you.

[00:13:22.000]
Now I have marketing state links, I can go to training, which I'm going to show you now.

[00:13:27.000]
I have marketing state links, technical documents, and Vpad information all available on this texture.

[00:13:28.000]
Site, also one I log in up here. My navigation is available, and this will take me to the main Gale support site, and I'm going to show you how to navigate through some of this information, too.

[00:13:43.000]
The training page is going to share with you and this is a good one to share with other folks in your library, or if you're looking for training materials looking for upcoming webinars, for example, here's the one we're in right.

[00:13:58.000]
Now, all of our recordings live here and then at the very bottom.

[00:14:01.000]
I'm gonna use my top navigation. Here we have additional materials and these are materials that we've added here specifically for your resources.

[00:14:07.000]
We don't have everything because it would fill this entire bottom page.

[00:14:14.000]
But out there are a few that we've highlighted here, so we have some tip sheets that are available.

[00:14:17.000]
For example, here's the Gale In Context Elementary summer learning handout.

[00:14:25.000]
We're gonna talk about that summer learning. We're also going to talk about the developing early research skills.

[00:14:30.000]
This is teacher tips, and it has a great student activity that can be used in the summer, or we have.

[00:14:38.000]
Where is that? At here the here it is. Gale presents National Geographic Kids a question a week, and this is an activity, a student activity.

[00:14:48.000]
So you have these types of materials already linked out.

[00:14:52.000]
Here's the example of a question a week, and we have a question a week for National Geographic Kids.

[00:14:58.000]
This is for summer. To this was specifically designed for this session.

[00:15:03.000]
Today, the prevent learning loss. But national Geographic kids, you also have a question a week for Gale In context, elementary.

[00:15:10.000]
And you have an ebook a week for Miss Humble Bees Academy, so you can quickly put in your QR.

[00:15:13.000]
Code directly to this is why you would want to use your direct Urls if you want to pull your direct URL for National Geographic in your library into a QR.

[00:15:27.000]
Code generator. You can post it here and then share this document, and below.

[00:15:33.000]
So we have some steps so that it's fully understand how you can access the information.

[00:15:34.000]
Here's the questions below, and these can be 2 sided, printed, 2 sided, where are the Pyramids found?

[00:15:45.000]
How many pandas are left in the wild and there's the answer.

[00:15:49.000]
So that you have the answer. Key. Here's the questions above.

[00:15:51.000]
So you have both available.

[00:15:55.000]
Okay, so you're going to find materials like that on the TexShare support site.

[00:16:06.000]
If you want, I'm goning show you another path.

[00:16:07.000]
So I'm going scroll up here.

[00:16:12.000]
To the top, and I'm goning to go to this is a long scroll.

[00:16:16.000]
There we go. I am actually going to use my top navigation.

[00:16:22.000]
So if I click on the home here, this will take me to my home page and connect me to my customer.

[00:16:33.000]
Success manager who happens to be Kevin Teller.

[00:16:35.000]
I can send Kevin an email or make an appointment right on his calendar.

[00:16:38.000]
If I want that one on one support. Yes, I want all of my direct Urls but I also want to learn more about the Gale usage dashboard, or I want to talk about the Gale pages, complimentary resource site.

[00:16:51.000]
That's available. I can talk to Kevin.

[00:16:54.000]
I can make an appointment right on his calendar, and he will contact me at the time.

[00:16:57.000]
I decide on. You also have all of the product information above.

[00:16:59.000]
So I can go directly to all of my products if I go to all of my products, I can find everything I need for.

[00:17:09.000]
Let's say I'm looking for everything, for elementary.

[00:17:10.000]
I can find everything I need for let's say I'm looking for everything, for elementary.

[00:17:12.000]
I can find that my marketing materials, my training materials, all of my direct urls, icons, widgets, all of available.

[00:17:19.000]
But today we're talking about preventing learning loss. So what is available.

[00:17:20.000]
Well, I can go to my training center. I can browse by type, but we're going to browse by product because I want to share with you.

[00:17:31.000]
Looking at these 3 specific products today.

[00:17:36.000]
And I'm gonna start with Miss Humblebee's Academy.

[00:17:39.000]
Actually, let's start with National Geographic, National Geographic Kids.

[00:17:47.000]
This takes me to all of the training materials I have available.

[00:17:48.000]
So I have some printable tools like this handout. Now, this handout is fantastic to have printed off and put around your library because the first one can take you to National Geographic Kids.

[00:17:56.000]
The second one takes you to the activity that I shared with you.

[00:18:08.000]
That question a week, so that at home activity you can put your direct URL right here in this document, too.

[00:18:20.000]
Okay.

[00:18:23.000]
So those are going to find those types of materials. Here's a tip sheet.

[00:18:28.000]
We have lessons and activities. And here's that question, a week which I shared with you.

[00:18:34.000]
So these are connected. Here's one for parents or guardians or babysitters. Whomever's grandparents.

[00:18:40.000]
Whoever's working with kids this summer. And then here's the activity that goes along with down below.

[00:18:45.000]
You're going to find some on demand training, recorded webinars, tutorials, and I can do the same thing if I go into product.

[00:18:53.000]
And I want to take a look at Gale in context, elementary.

[00:19:03.000]
This one has a lot more available as far as possible.

[00:19:07.000]
Tools and lesson activities below. You can see here, if it says project, these are all student activities that we have available.

[00:19:19.000]
Okay, we have graphic organizers. Here's the early research skills.

[00:19:25.000]
And we start with the teacher tip sheet. But it could be also for parents and then here's an activity.

[00:19:26.000]
Choosing an athletic below our graphic organizers, first investigating the second one is planning.

[00:19:39.000]
So maybe this will start your summer programming. It's a tool that is available within your on your Gale support site.

[00:19:48.000]
But connected to your gale resources. We have solar system, trading cards.

[00:19:53.000]
That was a great one that we did a couple years ago.

[00:19:56.000]
We have great scavenger hunts available. We recently added.

[00:19:59.000]
There's the question a week, and we recently added the escape room, and we have a template available.

[00:20:00.000]
But we also have. Where's it at here? I think I'm probably steering right at me.

[00:20:12.000]
We also have an escape room I'm not seeing it escape.

[00:20:14.000]
Room for Gale In Context elementary, and it should be linked out here I'll have to check into this.

[00:20:21.000]
I know it is on your TexShare, support, page, cause.

[00:20:26.000]
I just added it today. So, but there is oh, here it is.

[00:20:30.000]
I missed it Gale In context, elementary scientists, inventors in escape room so this, may be, you have an escape route. It's something you want to do this summer.

[00:20:34.000]
There's the option to. It's downloaded as a Powerpoint.

[00:20:42.000]
But there are student activities already built in, and it takes you through that, step by step process, link directly to content available in your resource.

[00:20:52.000]
Okay. So the first resource we are going to start with.

[00:20:53.000]
I shared with you is Miss Humble Bees Academy.

[00:20:57.000]
Let me know if you have any questions at all. I am monitoring that box, and I did just share with you the link to the overall site.

[00:21:03.000]
Now, as we move forward, I'm going to start sharing individual links to those weekly activities that we have available for each resource.

[00:21:09.000]
So let's start with Miss Humblebee's Academy and I'm just going to quickly take you into these resources just into the homepage and talk through a couple items, because this is a quick session.

[00:21:26.000]
And the focus is more on the materials and a little bit into the resources.

[00:21:27.000]
So I can sign in or register. And this is where I talked about creating an account as a parent, and then having my children listed on my account, so I would be creating a user account I can use this as a guest.

[00:21:45.000]
It wouldn't save any of my accounts as a guest.

[00:21:49.000]
It wouldn't save any of my information, but I can use it as a guest also, I am going to just quickly log in, and you can see here, here are my 3 children.

[00:21:56.000]
I'm going to click into Bella's.

[00:22:07.000]
So I'm gonna go back to my. This is my guided learning.

[00:22:10.000]
So there's 3 paths you have guided learning which is down this path.

[00:22:14.000]
You have my learning, or you have. Choose a lesson. These are all available in Miss Humblebee's Academy.

[00:22:22.000]
The about me is where the students can select their avatar, choose their the hair, the clothing, that type of information.

[00:22:31.000]
You can go directly to ebooks. You can go directly to the teach me section music and videos or steam.

[00:22:34.000]
We are going to guided learning again. If I click on my first icon or my first little button on my path, then it would take me to my lessons.

[00:22:43.000]
My learning, and choose a lesson, are going to look somewhat similar, because I have been in here learning.

[00:22:56.000]
As it loads. Here are some of my learning paths that I or learning lessons that I've either taken, or that I have available to me, or may have assigned to me, cause you kind't actually assign a certain topics or certain subject categories for students to take a look

[00:23:16.000]
at our children, to take a look at, and they are organized now you have this title, and then kind of like a they designed it similar to Netflix.

[00:23:19.000]
Where you can scroll through and select, organized again by the subject categories.

[00:23:32.000]
Let's choose a lesson. As I said, is going to look somewhat similar.

[00:23:36.000]
The difference is at the top of the page, you will see as it loads.

[00:23:45.000]
It actually starts with ebooks. So ebooks that are organized again by subject category.

[00:23:53.000]
As I scroll down. Here's my teach me section, so it looks a little different than the my learning path.

[00:24:00.000]
You have these lessons that are being taught by teachers. You even have some b-it activities, music videos.

[00:24:09.000]
And then below, we will have those printable. I get down here.

[00:24:14.000]
There we go, principal activities that we have available.

[00:24:15.000]
So indoor snowball flights. Here's the messiness level.

[00:24:21.000]
The age level materials that are needed directions. And here's some print options, too, that are available.

[00:24:33.000]
Okay, ebooks are interactive.

[00:24:38.000]
If I could click on to. I want to be a mail carrier.

[00:24:42.000]
I can either have the book read to me, or I can read it by myself, based on the.

[00:24:53.000]
So I can first hear the question, and I can make a decision if I want queues.

[00:25:00.000]
I always have it muted. Let me.

[00:25:07.000]
Mail carriers. I can have wherever my mouse goes it'll read that text aloud to me.

[00:25:13.000]
Okay, alright. And for Miss Humblebee's Academy we have the question a week.

[00:25:23.000]
This one is on ebooks, though so it's an ebook a week.

[00:25:27.000]
So it gives those that encouragement to read the ebooks that are available within this resource.

[00:25:34.000]
Let's go into National Geographic Kids, next, National Geographic Kids is organized on the homepage by Mexican books.

[00:25:35.000]
Videos and pictures what you're going to find here is you do have that ability to search through all your magazines by clicking on kids, magazines.

[00:25:52.000]
You also have, instead of going into each category.

[00:25:54.000]
If I wanted to explore by topics. So, looking at my contextual toolbar, if I wanted to explore by topics, and I wanted everything on animals that will give me all of the content magazines, books, images, and videos on animals, so that's one path I can take where I can use that explore

[00:26:15.000]
Topics section. And I can explore all of the magazines.

[00:26:21.000]
Let's see, and these again are all of those great kids magazines that you have available.

[00:26:26.000]
Now, here's the link to National Geographic. A question a week.

[00:26:32.000]
I'm gonna post that in the chat. I'm just gonna put Ngk for net. Geo. Kids.

[00:26:42.000]
If you would like to grab that URL.

[00:26:46.000]
Looking at this content, what I have available, I can filter down if I wanted to filter further by a certain subject.

[00:26:53.000]
Maybe I'm looking at animals, and I want animal behavior.

[00:26:57.000]
Not only will it filter my kids magazines, but it will.

[00:27:00.000]
My books, videos, and pictures. If I wanted to share this, I can use the get link, tool.

[00:27:06.000]
So maybe I want to share this with my patrons, and I have animals.

[00:27:10.000]
But looking at animal behavior. And I wanna share this with them.

[00:27:14.000]
I can use the get linked tool. It would create a persistent URL back to this information if you want to pull this URL into bitly or tiny URL, I know a lot of libraries do that.

[00:27:21.000]
They also are generating. QR codes back to content.

[00:27:27.000]
So that may be something that you're interested in speaking of.

[00:27:31.000]
QR. Codes. Here is that summer handout activity, and this is for parents. It's the kids.

[00:27:37.000]
Summer learning handout for National Geographic Kids.

[00:27:44.000]
And this is the one that I shared with you that has the QR codes.

[00:27:45.000]
That's the link that takes you to that. So again, if you have a webinar document or Google, Doc, and you want to copy and paste these feel free to do so.

[00:27:57.000]
Okay, so you're going to find that type. You have that ability through the browse, exploring topics to find the content. You also have.

[00:28:06.000]
If let's go back to let's go actually go to books real quick.

[00:28:12.000]
And we're gonna go into amazing animals because you get this great book e-book feel. Now, I can have this read aloud to me, even though I am seeing it as a Pdf.

[00:28:25.000]
Here I can have it. Read aloud, and it'll read the text on the page aloud to me.

[00:28:31.000]
I can also print this off if I wanted to. You can see I can tap for swipe on the right hand side.

[00:28:37.000]
If I wanted to grab a link back to this specific title, I can use that and share that with my users.

[00:28:48.000]
So here would be a great time to click that. Listen, button, and I can listen to that text being read aloud to me again, or I can print that information off. And we have all of those great videos available.

[00:29:03.000]
And images. This one I filtered it down too much.

[00:29:07.000]
Let me remove that filter real quick.

[00:29:13.000]
And all of the great National geographic images that we have.

[00:29:18.000]
Are included here.

[00:29:22.000]
Alright! So we have that question a week to help with learning loss, appropriate learning, loss for national Geographic, and then the easiest is for Miss Humblebee's Academy for our last one that I'm just going to touch into because we are right at the end of our session is

[00:29:39.000]
gay in context, elementary.

[00:29:43.000]
Your ebooks are also here, that you have from TexShare.

[00:29:47.000]
But elementary, is organized by these topic pages, and what we call the topic tree.

[00:29:54.000]
You have these great, I wonder? Questions that change that are at the top of the resource.

[00:29:59.000]
We can also go directly to all of our news pictures and videos going through the topic tree.

[00:30:08.000]
If I want to, and I have a link a couple of links for you.

[00:30:12.000]
Here, let's say I want to take a look at, and we went into animals.

[00:30:13.000]
So let's go into science. And maybe I'm looking for biography by biology in nature.

[00:30:26.000]
And I'm interested in. Have a chance.

[00:30:32.000]
I have an image and essay overview quick facts. So this is my topic.

[00:30:37.000]
Page, a curated collection of information. We have book articles and magazines and biographies.

[00:30:42.000]
We have pictures available, this one. We also have some infographics in our pictures.

[00:30:47.000]
So here's an infographic on the endangered Panda timeline.

[00:30:55.000]
Hey? Go back to my results.

[00:30:59.000]
We also have some video content. And then related topic pages.

[00:31:00.000]
So maybe this is something I want to share with my users.

[00:31:08.000]
I wanna highlight this information. I can do that.

[00:31:13.000]
Here are the links to.

[00:31:17.000]
The 2 documents. I shared the developed early research skills for Gale In context, elementary during our session, and the one below is that summer reading challenge.

[00:31:22.000]
The question a week?

[00:31:31.000]
Okay, and you'll find more links available.

[00:31:34.000]
As I mentioned on the Gale support site. That's why we started there today.

[00:31:36.000]
Connected to your gale resources. A few things I want to share to real quick before you leave me.

[00:31:43.000]
I'm going to click into habitats. Is there a tools to support accessibility?

[00:31:48.000]
So I have the listen feature here also, as I shared with you in National Geographic Kids, you'll see Evan in the ebooks here in Gale In context, elementary.

[00:31:54.000]
Whenever you see this icon, your users have the ability to listen to the text.

[00:31:56.000]
They can also increase the text, make it larger, smaller. I just changed it from a level 2 to a level one.

[00:32:10.000]
We have 4 words to know here. Sometimes with the level twos, we'll have main ideas.

[00:32:15.000]
The translate. Whenever you see the translate feature, you can translate the text into over 40 languages, and it'll translate all the text on the page.

[00:32:25.000]
And then the little information, Icon is the publication information.

[00:32:32.000]
If I wanted to download this article, or send this article to Google or Microsoft, I can.

[00:32:37.000]
If I wanted to print it off, or if I wanted to grab a link to it, all those options are going to be available or if I wanted to grab a link to it, all those options are going to be available in my toolbar citation tool one last thing, I want to share with

[00:32:51.000]
you let's say I am in animal adaptations, and I wanna filtered down my book articles, or actually all of my content.

[00:32:59.000]
I can filter by content level, which is really important level ones.

[00:33:03.000]
And 2 is our elementary level. 3 is middle school, and then it goes up from there.

[00:33:08.000]
So if you remember, level 3 is middle school, 2 is upper elementary.

[00:33:12.000]
One is lower, elementary. If I'd want to make sure that I don't have any level. 3 s.

[00:33:15.000]
Because sometimes we do I will, with our magazines, and sometimes with our news articles, some of them skew a little bit higher, but remember, we have that.

[00:33:20.000]
Listen, feature, so it might be a little bit higher reading level, but they can listen to that content being read aloud to them.

[00:33:30.000]
I can filter down to level ones and twos only, and it'll filter down all of my content at once, and then I can share the get link.

[00:33:40.000]
So keep that in mind that feature is available for parent too, because it's really important as a parent to find those.

[00:33:42.000]
If I want my child to read at a certain reading level, to find that content that works with their reading level, it's really helpful.

[00:33:55.000]
Okay, let's go back to our Powerpoint and wrap up the session part of what I'm going to share with you.

[00:34:02.000]
Here is something we've already talked about, and that is the Gale support site.

[00:34:11.000]
So just remember that is where you can go to find all of these activities.

[00:34:12.000]
Here's one, the see life trading cards, the question a week that I mentioned, but also you have great marketing materials available there's also printable materials.

[00:34:24.000]
If you want to print off bookmarks or posters, we have all of that available on the Gale's support site.

[00:34:29.000]
That was the link I shared with you at first, during their session, and then to connect with us.

[00:34:35.000]
You have for K. 12 and public libraries you have Gale customer success managers, and also for academic folks.

[00:34:42.000]
If we have any academic folks on the line today, maybe you have future teachers that you're working with, and you're looking for content and tools.

[00:34:51.000]
We have all of that available, and your customer success managers can help with that one on one support.

[00:34:56.000]
Their information is listed here on the screen. My name is Tammi Burke again.

[00:35:01.000]

[00:35:19.000]

[00:35:20.000]
