Once logged into your account, please click on View/Edit under the Summary Page in the middle of the screen. Please navigate to Location Authentication > Third Party > Scroll down to near the bottom to LTI Authentication and toggle the checkbox to turn on LTI Authentication. You have the option to add a description and determine whether the resource opens in a new browser window or within the Blackboard frame. We recommend using Open in new window.

Click Submit.

The resource now appears under Content in the course.

Gale In Context: Opposing Viewpoints inside of Blackboard course content

Please Note: You MAY receive the following error message. The tool provider is not supported. Only standard URL links to this site are permitted. There are two possible fixes when this error message is displayed.

Edit Web Link screen from course. With error message

Fix 1: The school or district administrator must enable Global Properties for LTI Tool Providers in Blackboard and allow per LTI configuration. After this step has been completed, the instructions above will allow installation by Web Link.

Within Blackboard administrator tools:

Blackboard Global Properties settings from admin portal

Fix 2: The school or district administrator must register Gale as an LTI Provider in the Blackboard admin interface. Any Gale URL is then recognized as being backed by the LTI provider key/secret, without any need to re-enter key/secret.
