Create a HAR File

When troubleshooting problems, Gale will sometimes ask for a HAR (HTTP Archive) file. This helps developers to investigate what caused a problem in a web browser.

Create a HAR file in Google Chrome (Desktop)

  1. Click ? (Customize and control Google Chrome) > More tools > Developer tools, or type Ctrl+Shift+I, or type F12.
  2. Replicate the problem you need Gale to investigate.
  3. Click the Network tab.
  4. Click Export HAR….
  5. Save the HAR file to your computer, but change the file name extension from .har to .txt. This will allow the file to be emailed to Gale Technical Support.

Create a HAR file in Microsoft Edge (Desktop)

  1. Click … (Settings and more (Alt+F4)) > More tools > Developer tools, or type Ctrl+Shift+I, or type F12.
  2. Replicate the problem you need Gale to investigate.
  3. Click the Network tab.
  4. Click Export HAR….
  5. Save the HAR file to your computer, but change the file name extension from .har to .txt. This will allow the file to be emailed to Gale Technical Support.

Create a HAR file in Mozilla Firefox (Desktop)

  1. Click ? (Settings and more (Alt+F4)) > More tools > Web Developer tools, or type Ctrl+Shift+I, or type F12.
  2. Replicate the problem you need Gale to investigate.
  3. Click the Network tab.
  4. Click Network Settings > Save All As HAR.
  5. Save the HAR file to your computer, but change the file name extension from .har to .txt. This will allow the file to be emailed to Gale Technical Support.
