How does authentication affect my usage statistics?

Depending on your method of authentication, your usage will be recorded as either inside or outside. 'Inside' usage is considered on campus or in your libraries network. 'Outside' usage is considered to be off campus, at home or not on your libraries network. The table below shows how the different methods of authentication are recorded:

Authentication Method Usage Recorded As
IP Authentication Inside
Password Authentication Inside
Library Managed Passwords (Scripting, RPAS) Outside
Referring URL Outside
Cookie Authentication Inside
Barcode Authentication Outside
