[00:00:01.940]
Tammi Burke: Welcome to your 15 min to mastery. Gale presents you To me app training session. This training session is for tech share public libraries, and today we will be talking about the you to be app that you have available

[00:00:15.730]
Tammi Burke: to your patrons at your library. My name is Tammi Burke. I'm your Gale trainer any questions that you have, please feel free to use that Q. A. Box. Since this is a 15 min to mastery session, I will be saving all the questions for the end of the session today. But please feel free to ask at any time. I will be monitoring that Q. A. Box. So let's talk about you to me. Gale presents you to me, and we're starting with a brief agenda where i'm going to first share with you where you can

[00:00:45.720]
access your tech share gale resources. I will provide you with an overview of Gale presents you to me.

[00:00:52.480]
Tammi Burke: and then we are going to spend some time exploring, adding, and using the udemy app. So I have some screenshots of how to do that, and I also have training material. So there I have a a quick tip sheet available for you all. It does live on the gale support site with all of our other support materials, and I will share with you at the end not only training and support, but also contact information.

[00:01:21.480]
First accessing your tech share resources. You can go to this site here. I'm going to put this in the chat real quick for those that are attending the live session. When you go to this site

[00:01:32.210]
Tammi Burke: you will be able to access or pull all of your direct Urls for all of your gale resources that you have available from text share. Once you land on the site. All you have to do is enter in your library site, name here, or you can use a dropdown menu

[00:01:52.210]
and then click, proceed. Once you do.

[00:01:55.130]
Tammi Burke: it will take you to this screen where you have all of your direct Urls. They will have your location Id built in for usage, so you'll have all of that information. Be able to capture that information. If you need a spreadsheet of all of your links, because you want to add them all to your library website. You can use the export links

[00:02:14.390]
to grab that spreadsheet.

[00:02:19.260]
Tammi Burke: So Gale presents you to me, prepares patrons for a changing workforce. You to me. Helps users build new skills that align with industry trends, helping them remain competitive in the modern workforce, and so much more

[00:02:35.190]
Tammi Burke: with the the gale, presents you to me resource you have on demand, learning for in demand skills. So we have courses in technology and business and health, and so much more along with personal development

[00:02:50.870]
Tammi Burke: Gale presents you to be offers more than 10,000 high quality on demand video courses. They're taught by world world class instructors across 75 categories

[00:03:01.420]
for upskilling in the areas of business technology and design. Your patrons can also achieve personal success with courses on health and well being the arts, language, learning, and so much more

[00:03:17.010]
Tammi Burke: so. Let's talk about the Udemy App. It is quite simple to add this to your device, and or your patrons can easily add it to their to their device. It is available on mobile devices and available to download from Google Play or the apple I store.

[00:03:36.980]
Tammi Burke: So it is available at both locations. So your users, no matter what type of device they're learning on, can can download this directly onto their device so they can add that App

[00:03:49.680]
Tammi Burke: Gale presents you to me on your mobile device. Now, there's 2 items that are extremely important to remember.

[00:03:57.830]
Tammi Burke: Number one. When you do a search for the app, and you do a search for you to me. Make sure to choose the U to be business App.

[00:04:06.290]
Tammi Burke: So there are 2 you can see pictured here. The icons are very similar. You want your patrons to select the U to be business app.

[00:04:16.209]
Tammi Burke: The second one is when they're asked for their Organization's account, name

[00:04:21.940]
the want to make sure to put in Gale.

[00:04:24.760]
Tammi Burke: The quotation marks are not needed. Just Gale, so enter and Gale is your name of your organization, and then that will take you to take your patrons or take you all to your access point into you, to me, from tech share

[00:04:45.210]
the next step or the third step, you'll be prompted to search for your library name.

[00:04:50.220]
Tammi Burke: So this is available from texture for all public libraries and only public libraries, but you will want to make sure that you change that library type to public library. Then you can put in your library name, click, search, and then you'll see below that you have a few options there. I can select awesome public library here, but i'll I'll get a few options for whatever I type in. Sometimes you have patrons that are only putting in, maybe the first word of of your library name, and also you have.

[00:05:20.210]
Tammi Burke: You have the ability to use your location. So that's an option to. If you would like to use your location. If you're in a library and you use like right now, If you're trying to add the app. If you use your location, it will take you right to right to your own library site

[00:05:39.880]
Number 4. You'll enter in your library code to authenticate. So you have a few options, and looking at this first screenshot.

[00:05:48.190]
this is from San Antonio Public Library, used it as an example where you can please enter in your library. Id bar code or other. Id so. However, your library authenticates. However, that set up in your system within. Gale Admin is what your patrons will do to, and i'll talk a little bit more about that on the right. You'll see Austin Public Library does have it set up where their users will put in their library card number so that information, and then they can log in there.

[00:06:17.420]
Tammi Burke: so that information is available, and they that is how they they are authenticating into the resource.

[00:06:29.500]
Tammi Burke: Number 5. From here you would create a U to me account. So you'll scroll down a little bit, and you'll see the sign in to create a U to me account

[00:06:39.280]
you can use Create that you to me account. Once you do. You'll get this screen here the second screen where you use Google or Microsoft or an email account, and to

[00:06:51.100]
Tammi Burke: to start learning. So once you create that sign and account, whichever it is your patrons want to use if they're using Google, if they're using Microsoft or they just want to use a general email and password. All those options are available here when they're creating or signing into their account.

[00:07:09.520]
Tammi Burke: And the last one, Number 6 start learning. So you can see, I have added my logged in, I added my app. First I logged in, and now it takes me to my you, to me account where I can start learning and see on the top. It says, let's start learning, Tammi. These are courses that I've already enrolled in.

[00:07:28.630]
and it is looks very similar. It's just mobile, responsive. So it's not going to look like it does on my computer screen, of course, but all of the same information is here and available on the right hand side. You're seeing what the app looks like. Once I click into a course.

[00:07:46.120]
I have the course content here below, but as soon as I click, play. All that I see on my screen is the video. If I wanted to add that course, content also on my screen, even though there's not a lot of real estate there on a on a phone device. But I can. That option is available, and this is what I would see. But the nice thing is is once I click play, it'll take me

[00:08:08.200]
Tammi Burke: directly to that video and start that content.

[00:08:12.920]
Tammi Burke: So I can start learning.

[00:08:14.760]
Tammi Burke: Okay, I have a question here.

[00:08:18.430]
Tammi Burke: Okay, Gale. So you might want to take a look at. If you're you're logging in into your account. You've access the

[00:08:28.830]
Tammi Burke: the app

[00:08:30.240]
Tammi Burke: it. It may be identifying you if your authentication is already set up. Are you in your library when you are accessing this app? That's something to know if you are on your library site. If you're on site, you're making it very easy for the app to find you, because you are on site, and it really depends on your authentication, and how it's set up

[00:08:52.240]
Tammi Burke: as to what your what you're seeing, and what what password you're being prompted for, or bar, code or whatever the case may be.

[00:09:00.620]
Tammi Burke: Okay. So Gale support.

[00:09:02.610]
Tammi Burke: I'll come back to the questions in just a moment. Let me talk about the support, and I will answer. I see that that you've responded to my question. So thank you. So support Gale.com. You can go to find all of your access, Urls. I shared that at the beginning of this session

[00:09:19.340]
There's database icons in which it's also available in the training center is where you're going to find tip sheets and tutorials recorded Webinars training decks, and so much more

[00:09:29.700]
this document Here i'll put this in the chat. You'll find all of the training materials, I should say out the link I'll put in the chat will be to all the training materials. But look for the quick tips

[00:09:41.000]
Tammi Burke: for adding the app. This is a great one to print off and have available at your reference desk wherever your patrons are learning, and you want them to add the Udemy app, or be aware of the Udemy app. You can share that information because it takes you through those steps real quick here

[00:09:57.860]
on how to find that, and it does let you know that you're looking for the you. To me business app and enter in Gale into that URL that you're when you're prompted for it.

[00:10:10.010]
Tammi Burke: You'll also find a few other training materials. We have some short video tutorials. We also have a read more of a resource guide or more, step by step, accessing through the browser. What? What? That would look like. So all of these options are great to share on your library website, or.

[00:10:28.610]
as I said, print them off in your library.

[00:10:31.360]
Tammi Burke: Maybe you're running some programming, and you need this type of information for those folks that are looking to Upskill.

[00:10:38.230]
Tammi Burke: You can definitely print those off and share them with your patrons

[00:10:42.020]
and then marketing materials. We have bookmarks, posters, digital assets, email templates communication, templates media posts everything that you need to promote your resources. We have it available for you in the marketing material section on the gale support site. The one that I pictured here is just one of many, and we do have a lot available for social media posts or banners. If you're looking to add it to your library website. There's some great materials available

[00:11:09.830]
Tammi Burke: support tools and training I just shared with you that Gale support site, your customer success managers. They're your one on one support. So authentication came up, and talking about Gale, admin and adding your Bar code to your Gale admin account, so that your your patrons, when they're accessing your resources

[00:11:29.590]
will be prompted to authenticate using their barcode. That is something your customer success managers can help with. There is some setup by 2.

[00:11:38.010]
Tammi Burke: Whomever is the administrator at your site. They can connect with our customer success managers, and they can help you help with that one on one process and and walk you through Gale Admin and and all the different preferences and options that you have available there

[00:11:54.600]
Tammi Burke: Training survey. We'd love to get your feedback on the survey. If you have the your cell phone in your hand, because you're adding the app, feel free to scan this QR code and give us your feedback on this short 15 min to mastery session today.

[00:12:07.510]
Tammi Burke: Otherwise the training survey will pop up for those that are attending a live session. It will pop up here at the end. My name again is Tammi Burke. I'm. Your senior, Gale training consultant. I thank you for your time. If you have any questions at all After this session.

[00:12:23.210]
maybe down the road. Here's my contact information. It'll also be included in the follow up email that you receive along with where you can find the recording to this session.

[00:12:35.990]
Tammi Burke: But thank you. That wraps our session for today. Again it was a quick 15 min together. I thank you for your time, and I do see that we have some questions here.

[00:12:45.910]
Tammi Burke: Okay. So let's see. So you are accessing the resource, and it took you right into the login page. Well, that that's fantastic. Are you on your library? Are you at your library right now, or are you learning somewhere else today? Let me know, because if you're at your library for those of you that are are listening to this portion, if you have

[00:13:08.420]
Tammi Burke: patrons that are coming into your library and accessing the you to me, app from your library. Then the authentication that your library has set up

[00:13:18.100]
Tammi Burke: will be the same process. So if they? Maybe you have. Okay. So you're accessing from your library site, and it's taken you right in that's that's great. The

[00:13:28.490]
Tammi Burke: you may have it set up, or your administrator may have had it set up that your IP address is being recognized at your site. So that could be the case that your IP address is being recognized, and you're being authenticated right into the resource.

[00:13:43.360]
so that could be the case. But whatever your authentication is for your other resources, you you know, if it is a bar code, or if you would like to set that up, As I mentioned that we have customer success managers that can help with that process.

[00:13:56.550]
That is very simple to do very simple to add that information specifically for your library site.

[00:14:03.270]
Tammi Burke: So, or if you use the if you clicked on. Use my location. That's another way that it's authenticating you right in

[00:14:10.200]
Tammi Burke: You're welcome.

[00:14:11.720]
All right. Let me know if there are any additional questions. If there's anything else I can help with. But

[00:14:16.300]
thank you all for your time today. I hope you join us again in the future. We have sessions coming up later this month, and actually almost every week. We have one coming up later this month, and then a couple in, you know, next month in March, and then even in into April. So we're covering all kinds of great topics here in the upcoming months. Thank you again for your time today.

[00:14:38.470]
and have a great rest of your day.
