One of six Analysis Tools built into the Gale Digital Scholar Lab, Sentiment Analysis reveals trends or patterns in positive, negative, or neutral sentiment within a collected set of documents. Sentiment Analysis uses the AFINN Lexicon to assign a “sentiment score” to each document within a researcher’s content set, then provides two interactive visualizations of this data. In this webinar, Sr Digital Humanities Specialist Dr. Sarah Ketchley explains the recent upgrade to this tool, discusses how Sentiment Analysis can be used in Digital Humanities projects to answer research questions, and shows how to run the Sentiment Analysis tool.
