How does authentication affect my usage statistics?

Depending on your method of authentication, your usage will be recorded as either inside or outside. "Inside" usage is considered on campus or in your libraries network. "Outside" usage is considered to be off campus, at home or not on your libraries network. The table below shows how the different methods of authentication are recorded:<br> <br> <table border="2"> <tbody><tr bgcolor="#cccc99"> <td>Authentication Method</td> <td>Usage Recorded As</td> </tr> <tr> <td>IP Authentication</td> <td>Inside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Password Authentication</td> <td>Inside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Library Managed Passwords (Scripting, RPAS)</td> <td>Outside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Referring URL</td> <td>Outside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Cookie Authentication</td> <td>Inside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Barcode Authentication</td> <td>Outside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Shibboleth Authentication</td> <td>Inside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Athens Authentication</td> <td>Inside</td> </tr> <tr> <td>User Defined Authentication</td> <td>Depends on a Variable in the Gale URL</td> </tr> </tbody></table> <br>
